I nearly stopped in my tracks when I saw the door opening. Thankfully it was only Megan's mother. She didn't seem pleased to see me.

"Roger Taylor what are you doing here?" She called out to me from the door.

"Uh, I've come to get Megan back. I need to ask her to-"

"Too late Roger, she's done with you." Said her mother.

"But please I just need to talk to her." I said.

"She's in bed."

"She never goes to bed this early."

"I'm surprised you even know that given the fact you haven't exactly been spending too much time with her!"

"Please, I'm begging you, just let me talk to her."

Megan's father, David came out.

"Sandra, let him talk to her!"

"Thank you so much sir!" I said. He moved out of the way of the door and I ran in and up the stairs.

I reached Megan's room. I knocked gently on the door. She didn't open it. I knocked harder. "Come in!" She said.

I walked in and she was lying in bed, half asleep. "Megan?" I said. "Is that.... Roger?" She was still waking up. When she was fully awake she realised it was me.

"What are you doing here?" She asked. I couldn't figure out if she was angry at me or not.

"I've come to apologise." I said. "You've got nothing to apologise for." She answered. "Well come home then. "I can't!" "Why!?" I was getting annoyed now. "Megan! Please! Look we can sort this out! I don't want to lose you." She was crying. "Its past sorting out. We're finished." "Why are you giving up so easy?" I asked. "Because I've held on before. And it always ends like this." "Megan... please...." I said taking her hand. She put her head down. "Stop Roger." I let go.

"Megan please. Come home. I need you. I love you."

"I love you too but- Oh God, I just, I don't know what to do." She was properly crying now and I took her into my arms and rocked her like she had done so many times before for me.

"Come home." I said. She didn't answer. "But I'm not a good wife." She said. "You are! Please Megan! I'm begging you now!" "How would it be if you were standing in my shoes? Now I know there's no making sense of it but every way I go, I'm bound to lose. If I stay, I feel depressed and upset and if I leave I still feel upset."

"Megan don't do this to me please. I need you to come home. I don't understand why you left." "Because we're not meant for each other. Your job got in the way."

Tears were rolling down my cheeks. "Megan we are meant for each other." I said. "Not anymore. You've been neglecting me and Elly and Aidan. I can't handle it. It's selfish I know but I cant-" "yeah, it is selfish. You know what? I came all this way for you but forget it. If you don't care enough that's fine." "Roger no I-" "doesn't matter." I said, walking out the door.

I ran down the stairs, tears streaming. I stopped in the hall and wiped them. "Well?" Asked her father. I shook my head and got into the car. Brian hugged me. "Its alright mate. She'll come back." I wasn't sure.

I could see her at the window, pulling back the curtains to look out as we left.
