*24th of November 1981*

There was only a few minutes until the guys went on and I kept the kids close by as they did another sound check.

Suddenly the lights came on and there was an explosion of smoke, and Brian,Roger and John began playing. Freddie ran onto the stage as the crowd cheered.

Their first song was a fast version of We Will Rock You, the original to be played later in the concert.

The atmosphere was amazing, even from backstage. Freddie was commandeering the stage with such ease and finesse that you weren't able to take your eyes off him.

The sound of the music was absolutely perfect and there wasn't a single glitch or mistake from any of the members.

I felt my heart burst with pride when Roger began singing I'm In Love With My Car, he sang like an angel and he had this smoldering slowness as he sang and played. I took a quick look at the kids and their mouths were open wide, in complete awe.

For the remainder of the concert I was completely mesmerized. I didn't understand how Roger did this so often.

There was a group of cameramen recording the concert, and I could tell Freddie was getting impatient with them, and during Keep Yourself Alive, Freddie threw his tambourine at one of them.

Afterwards Roger did his timpani solo, and it was quite short, but the audience loved it. Roger was absolutely sweating when he came off the stage for Brian to do his solo.

Roger had to accompany him at some point, but he immediately ran off the stage and grabbed a towel from his assistant's hands and pressed it to his face.

He walked over to us and put his head on my shoulder. "I'm exhausted..." he mumbled.

I pulled him off and laughed.

"You'll be fine! Now go on back out there. You're doing a fantastic job."

"Thank you." He said with a glimmer in his eyes.

After doing their whole set and encore, Queen walked off to God Save The Queen and met myself and Veronica and Chrissie backstage.

"Well done, Roger, that was fantastic!" I told him as he sat down and pulled Luke onto his lap.

"Thanks. I think we did a good job.... at least now we might be able to pay for Ellys surgery."

I saw Chrissie walking over to us out of the corner of my eye.

"Well, well, well, look here. Everything's all well and good now hmm?" She asked.

I noticed Roger had gotten flustered.

Brian had been searching for Chrissie and eventually he joined us as well.

"I'm very sorry, but Chrissie, what the hell is your problem? You've treated me like the height of dirt from the minute you walked in here. I'm confused. Before you left we were great friends, and now you don't want to know me. What's going on?" I asked.

Chrissie smiled smugly at Roger who was acting uninterested by distracting himself with Luke.

"Why don't you tell her, Roger?" She said.

Roger looked up at me and gave Chrissie a confused look.

"Ummm.. what... what do you mean?"

"Oh dearie me... you must have forgotten. We slept together, remember?"

"What?!" Brian screeched.

"You slept with Chrissie?!" I exclaimed.

"You slept with Roger!?" Brian roared.

"For fucks sake...." Roger said, putting his head in his hand.

"Well, you slept with her!" Chrissie said, pointing to me.

"Wait.... you slept with Brian?! I thought you only kissed!" Roger said, now getting angry himself.

"We did only kiss! We slept in the same bed! That was it!" Brian exclaimed.

"This is so fucked up...." I mumbled to myself.

"When was this?" Brian asked Chrissie.

"About a year and a half ago. But I didn't want you to get angry. It was her I was trying to annoy. Why haven't I gotten a reaction?"

"Cause I wasn't with Roger at the time." I told her through gritted teeth.

"Hardly a surprise...." she mumbled.

"Hey!" Roger exclaimed. "Can we all not just forget about this, please. It was ages ago and you and I weren't even married!"

"We were!" Brian shouted. "I can't believe you Chrissie. And of all people, my best friend?"

"Oh just forget about it." She shrugged, annoyed her actions hadn't impacted me in the way she had hoped.

Roger and I brought the kids back to the hotel for the night and he kept apologising to me.

That night we got into bed and Roger put his arm out and I lay on it.

In the room beside us I could hear Chrissie and Brian screaming at each other.

As I put my hand on Rogers body, I couldn't help but think that Chrissie had touched his body too. And more annoyingly, he had touched hers.

I took my hand off his chest and he noticed.

"Everything alright?" He asked.

"Mmm.... I suppose I'm just a bit shocked you were with her. Anybody else, I'd understand..... but she's married. To your best friend. What about Brian?"

"She seduced me. I was drunk. And as high as a kite. We barely even did anything. I wouldn't even say we had sex. I wouldn't even say it was sexual contact."

"Was she better than me...?" I asked sadly.

Roger tutted and pulled me closer to him.

"Of course not. We didn't do anything. I didn't even stay the full night with her. And I was completely clothed the whole time. This is so much ado about nothing. I understand Brian being upset..." Brian continued to scream next door. "But are you?"

"No.... no I'm not."

"Good."

Roger kissed my forehead and fell asleep as I listened to the lover's spat between Brian and my old best friend.
