**Rogers POV**Megan's memory still hadn't come back to her. However, there were things she knew that I didn't tell her. For example, she knew she was a paramedic. I wasn't sure if she had read it in her journal or if she just knew. She wanted to return to work as soon as possible but I wanted her to wait so she wouldn't be overwhelmed or shocked.
One thing I was worried about was our tour. The boys and I were going in around October and we were nearly finished our album. However, how would Megan cope without me? She had no recollection of Chrissie so she wouldn't feel safe with her. I had no way to get out of going on tour either. And I hadn't told Megan about it.
It felt like we were starting from the ground up again. It was almost like she was a completely different person. Don't get me wrong: she was still just as kind and amazing, but I didn't feel the same kind of love from her. I guessed it would take a while for us to get back to where we were.
Leaving her alone with the kids was worrying for me. I didn't want them to upset or overwhelm her but whenever I came back from the studio or wherever I was, they seemed to have gotten on okay. I knew the kids would take it hard but they took it so bad, I didn't even know what to do about it. They told me they didn't even recognise her anymore. She changed.
I decided to bring the guys over because they might refresh her memory. I just invited them that day, not telling them anything about Megan. I informed her they were coming and she was nervous. She told me she listened to our records and she almost felt like a fan.
The boys arrived and I answered the door while Megan waited in the kitchen. I knew she wanted to mentally prepare.
"Hey Megan," said Freddie when he walked in. I told Megan what Freddie looked like so she would recognise him. "Oh hi Freddie," she replied. It seemed to have worked.
"Hello Megan, how are you?" Greeted John. "I'm good thanks, you?" John didn't catch on either.
However, Brian was very sensitive to moods and feelings and I knew he would notice the difference. Thankfully, Megan said she remembered Brian, however only vividly.
"Megan! How are you?" Asked Brian, hugging her. Megan hugged him back and they made conversation. I could see Brian frowning slightly when Megan sat back down but he didn't say anything.
"So," said Freddie. "About the tour..."
"Guys," I said. "Is there any way we can maybe postpone the tour?"
"Tour?? You never told me about a tour!" Said Megan, obviously upset.
"I did... remember Freddie came over.." I said slowly, hoping she would get the hint.
"Why do you want to postpone it? What's wrong?" Asked Brian.
"Nothing, it's just Megan had a bit of an accident when we went to Ireland so... yknow.. I'd like to be here for her."
I felt Megan tense up beside me. She was almost sitting on my knee at this stage. I knew she didn't feel comfortable with the guys so she stayed close by me. I held her hand most of the time.
"Oh, are you alright?" Asked John.
"Yeah I'm fine, nothing major," she said, neither of us breathing a word about her memory loss.
"Well if you're fine then surely you can cope without Roger...." mumbled Freddie.
"Freddie!" I exclaimed. I knew he didn't understand but I didn't want him to upset Megan either.
"No Roger," she said. "He's right. I mean, I can cope fine."
We all continued to talk and the boys asked Megan questions, making conversation, but she couldn't think of any questions to ask them so they ended there.
Later in the evening we all went into the living room to watch the television because our performance from last year's tour was being aired.
Brian was the last person to leave the kitchen with me and he stopped me. "Hey, Roger," he said, putting his arm out to stop me. "What's up with Megan? She seems.... different.."
"Oh, shes fine Brian, nothing to worry about." I said, trying to leave.
"Roger." He said sternly, knowing I was lying.
"Brian," I said. "You can't tell any of the guys please. Megan had a fall and she lost her memory. She doesn't even remember me.."
"What?!"
"Shhh Brian, you can't say anything!
"I won't I promise."
Brian and I joined everyone in the kitchen and brought some drinks in to them. John and Freddie got quite drunk, but Brian barely drank anything. I assumed he was worried about Megan. I saw him looking at her a few times.
"Megan..." slurred John. "What did you think of the recipe... I gave you for the ch- cheese on toast..?"
Megan thought for a minute and started to stutter. "Uhhh... well.."
"She thought it was great..." I said.
"Shh Roger she can answer for herself...." said Freddie.
Only she couldn't. I had to tell them..
"Megan," I said. "Could you go upstairs and check up on the kids?"
Megan left the living room and walked up the stairs while I talked to the boys. "Guys," I said. "Okay, I should've told you earlier but.... well..... Megan, she's..... lost her memory."
Freddie started laughing. Laughing
"Fred, this isn't funny," said Brian.
"What's not funny?" Asked Megan as she returned back downstairs.
"Uhhhh.." I stuttered, trying to think.
"Roger here is saying you've lost your memory!" Said Freddie, between laughs.
I saw Megan's face fall, then crumple and soon tears were rolling down her cheeks. I jumped up to console her but she ran up the stairs.
"Freddie! For fuck sake!" Exclaimed Brian.
I sat back down, completely depressed while John and Freddie got a taxi home. On the way out Freddie talked to me. "Rog, I'm sorry I thought you were kidding."
"Why would I about something like that?"
Freddie looked down at the ground and I closed the door behind him.
Brian stayed and went upstairs to Megan to console her seeing as she remembered him the most. It hurt how she didn't come to me for consolation when she cried. Instead she ran away and up the stairs. She never did that. No matter the circumstances she always wanted me to be there for her. But now was not always. Now was now and it would never be the same.
I heard footsteps down the stairs and I whipped around. It was Brian. "How is she?" I asked worriedly.
"She's okay.... She asked for you."
I sprinted up the stairs into our bedroom where Megan was sitting on the end of the bed, looking torn. She smiled as she saw me. "Hey.." I said, putting my arm around her shoulder.
"You told me you wouldn't say anything to them!"
"I know, but they were starting to catch on... and besides... they needed to know."
Megan nodded and then wrapped her arms around my waist, resting her head in my chest. I rubbed her hair and held onto her back. I didn't know where to hold her in case she felt uncomfortable but she didn't seem to be.
She moved my arms to her waist and put hers around my neck and pulled me close. I was completely shocked. She kissed my lips. Like a proper kiss. I picked her up and put her legs around my waist as she continued to kiss me. We pulled away and she looked into my eyes. Her eyes were big and full of wonder. They looked as if she had almost.... remembered something.....
