*May 30th 1975*

That evening when I came home from work Roger jumped off the couch and ran over to me as I was walking into the hall. "Hey, babe," he said, kissing my cheek. "Hey Roger, what's up?" I asked. "Um, I know you're only home but I really need to go to the studio right now, is that alright? Will you be alright?" He asked quickly. "Yeah of course go ahead, it's no problem." I said, kissing his lips before he ran out the door.

I sat on the couch and closed my eyes for a few minutes, close to falling asleep, until I was woken up but Elly Mae screaming. "Elly, baby, are you okay?" I said to her as I picked her up and sat back down again. I rocked her back and forth until she fell asleep. I put her into our room in her crib, frowning. I thought about converting the spare box room into the kids' room but it was too small for the both of them. The house altogether was far too small. The kitchen was too small for the things the twins needed, the sitting room was attached to the kitchen not even separated by a door. Our room was rather small as well. This was the only available house when we moved to London and the only house we could afford too. Even today it was the only house we could afford. I knew we were just going to have to lump it.

I was washing the dishes and cleaning the house when the phone rang. I walked over to it and answered it. It was Brian.
Megan: Hello?
Brian: Hi it's Brian.
M: Oh hi Brian, how are you?
B: I'm okay, you?
M: I'm good.
B: Would it be alright if I came over?
M: Em, yeah sure go ahead.
B: Okay, see you in a few minutes.

I didn't know why he wanted to come over. Still, I couldn't complain. He had been very kind to me the last few weeks so I could only return the kindness. A few minutes later he knocked at the door and I let him in. "Hey Megan." He said, pulling me into a hug. "Hi Brian." I said. He frowned. "Rogers not here?" He asked. "No he ran off to the studio." I told him. "Oh yes I forgot." He said. "So what's up?" I asked. "Well, I need your help on planning the wedding." He said to me. "Why aren't you and Chrissie planning it together?" I asked. "Because," he said. "I want to surprise her and I thought what better person to help me plan her surprise than a married woman!" I laughed. "So what are your ideas?" I asked. "Well....." he started. He pulled out a notebook and written in it was all the ideas he had to surprise Chrissie. He had a hot air balloon, fireworks display, getting her family from America, he had a lot of ideas. After I read them all he said: "so what do you think?" I looked at him. "Well, getting her family from America is a good idea and I like the fire works too but I think you should pick out her dress and leave it as a surprise until the day of the wedding." I said. He stopped for a minute. "Thats not actually a bad idea. Would she like that?" He asked. "I could help you so you would pick out the perfect style. I could go with her to look at dresses and see which ones she likes and then tell you so you could pick out a similar one." I replied. "Wow, that's a really good idea! I'm going to do that!" He said jumping up and hugging me. "Thank you." He said. "No problem Brian." I told him. I made him a cup of tea and we sat on the couch. "Are you excited for the wedding?" I asked him. "Oh yeah, I can't wait to marry her. She's my best friend." He told me. "Aw Brian, that's adorable." I said. "Would you help me write my vows too?" He asked. "Of course!" I said. "What do you say?" He asked giggling. "Well you say exactly how you feel and what you're thinking. Tell her what you want her to know, how she makes you feel. Tell her she's your best friend." I said. He was staring at me. "Brian?" I asked, waving my hand in front of his face. "Hm? Sorry I was thinking...." he said.

I looked at the clock after we had been sitting and chatting for a few hours. We spent the hours sitting, laughing, talking about everything. I told him about our wedding and helped him with the vows and the planning and organising. He was putting a lot of effort in and Chrissie was a very lucky girl.

It was now 11:30 pm and I yawned. Brian looked at the clock and then he got up and stretched. "Well I better be going." He said. I stood up too. "See you later Brian and thanks for coming over I had fun." I said. "Me too, thanks for having me." He said, hugging me. I stood hugging him for a few minutes. He eventually let go and we laughed. "Bye!" He said, cheerfully and he walked out the door.

Roger arrived home at midnight that night. "Sorry love I was in the studio for so long because I'm working on a new song. It's called "I'm in love with my car" and it's not nearly finished yet sorry." He said as he came in. "It's fine and I told you your car was the love of your life." I said laughing. "No it's not about me, it's about our roadie, Jonathan. And my car couldn't be the love of my life because you are." He said, hugging me and kissing my neck. "I love you." I said. "I love you too." He replied.

**Brian's POV**
As I got into bed that night, Megan was on my mind and it felt like history was repeating itself because I felt the exact same way about a year ago. I felt annoyed at myself because I couldn't spend a few hours with her alone without feeling some sort of affection towards her. It wasn't a small affection, it was large, nearly large enough to make me call off the wedding....

A/N: I got the last part from a very very kind reader named apocalypsepancake so thank you so much!! 😘
