Queen had went back into the studio to record their next album. They had been tossing ideas around but they settled on "News Of The World" as the title.
I went to the studio when I wasn't working to check in and make the guys tea. I heard a bit of a song that I fell in love with. It was this killer riff that Brian played on his guitar and it made me stop in my tracks when I heard it. As I listened more I heard the chorus and I fell in love.
"Roger, my god, what is the name of that song?" I asked when he came out of the recording booth. "Um...." he said thinking and picked up the cup of tea. "I think it's called "It's Late" but I'm not sure. It's Brian's song so I don't really know."
"Whats Brian's song?" Asked Brian coming out from the booth too. "Its Late." Said Roger. "Oh yeah. That's my song." He said. "Well I absolutely love it, it's fantastic Brian." I told him.
The boys and I sat around a table in the studio and drank tea and coffee. "So how's your clapping stamping song coming along?" I asked Brian. "Oh yeah, we're finished it actually. I hope it'll do good with our fans." He said. "Have you written any songs Freddie?" I asked him. "Yes only one so far. Its called We Are The Champions. Big headed I know, but we are." He replied. I just laughed.
Roger and the boys went back into the booth to record and they did their clapping song. Turns out it was called We Will Rock You. It was a song that made you want to clap your hands and stamp your feet along with it. I thought it was amazing.
When it got "too late" Roger and I left the studio and walked home, holding hands. We went into the creche to collect the kids and then walked back to our house. By the time we had finished dinner and I tidied up, it was the kids' bedtime and Roger and I brought them to bed. We tucked them in and kissed them goodnight.
Me and Eoger went back downstairs and sat on the couch. Roger put his head in my lap as I stroked his hair. "So your album is coming along great Roger." I said. "Mm." He replied. "Whats wrong?" I asked. He didn't answer for a while. Then he sat up. "Brian seems to be writing all the good songs. It made me jealous that you liked them so much...." mumbled Roger, looking down at his knees, embarrassed. I took his hand. "Baby," I said. "You have absolutely no reason to be jealous of Bri at all. I love you and you know that." He smiled at me. "Okay."
"Besides, Brian doesn't have what you have..." I murmured. "Whats that?" Asked Roger, lifting his head. "A gorgeous face." I said. Roger stood up and swiftly picked me up and ran up the stairs, with me in his arms. We went into our bedroom. He put me on the bed and took his clothes off. When he was finished he kissed my lips with pure passion and had his hands in my hair. I lay on the bed with Roger laying over me while he expertly filled my body with pleasure. I held onto his waist as he made love to me. "Oh Roger..." I whispered. "What're you doing to me..."
I gripped the bedsheets and Rogers arm as I felt multiple waves of pleasure come over me. Roger moaned as he kissed my lips and then lay beside me, completely spent.
After I regained my energy, I noticed Roger was fast asleep. I put my pyjamas on and got into bed beside him, covering him with the duvet. He stirred and woke and I gave him his pyjamas. He put them on and joined me in bed. He was very warm and he pressed close against me. "You're no longer jealous of Brian are you?" I asked. Roger shook his head. "Nope. He doesn't get you every night."
"And you do." I said, turning and kissing his lips. "Goodnight darling." I said. "Goodnight baby." Whispered Roger into my ear as we both fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning I woke up and brought the kids to their school. They were too little for actual school but they would start it in a year's time. For now, they went to a creche, so they would have someone to mind them while Roger and I were at work. I dropped them off and then came back home. Roger was still in bed.
I started to make his breakfast when I heard I knock at the door. I turned the oven off and went to answer. I ran my fingers through my hair in an attempt to tame it when I was opening it. It was Ben Smith.
"Ben!" I said, surprised. "How are you?" I let him in the house. "I'm good, thank you. And you?" He asked. "I'm very well, thanks." I said.
I brought him into the kitchen and put on the kettle. "Oh by the way," he started. "Roger gave me your address." I laughed. "Yeah I figured that." Ben laughed. We started talking. He told me about his career as an actor and his life after school. "My parents really encouraged my acting, which was a huge surprise." He told me.
After we talked for a while I heard Roger come downstairs. Ben stood up and gave him a huge hug. "How's it going Ben?" Asked Roger. "Going great, and you?" Ben replied. The two of them talked while I made the tea and they both laughed and joked with each other. Ben had really changed his ways and he was a kinder man. He really had grown up. I felt Roger knew this too and they were being civilised adults.
Ben left for the evening after inviting us to dinner with him and his girlfriend. We decided to go. I felt better about Ben because he really had changed.
"Are you looking forward to this dinner?" Asked Roger. "Yeah should be nice to see who he is dating." I said laughing. "He is a nice guy after all these years." Said Roger. I nodded in agreement. "You should wear that dress you wore to the concert because I barely got to see it on you..." said Roger kissing my neck. "I will, for you." I said and turned and kissed his lips. He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me close. I felt like I was at home.
