I woke up to a loud thunderbolt, scaring me senseless. I immediately jerked in Rogers arms when I heard it and I felt his arm wrap tighter around  me. I guessed he was awake too.

I gently eased his arm off mine but I felt it pull me back, closer to him. I turned on my side and saw Roger smiling back at me.

"Hello," he said, almost creepily.

I was about to reply, but a thunderbolt clapped again. I threw my head down into the bed and Roger started laughing.

"Don't tell me you're afraid of thunder..." he laughed.

"No...." I lied.

Roger pulled me back up but I instantly put my head down again.

"Looks like you're scared to me..." he muttered.

"Okay, maybe I'm a little scared.." I mumbled into the bed.

"Oh, my poor baby..." he cooed, pulling me up slightly so I was resting on his chest. His body was surprisingly warm. I snuggled into his chest, feeling safe.

He gently rubbed my back and ran his fingers through my hair. There was another clap of thunder and I buried my face in his chest.

In an attempt to calm me, Roger began to sing.

"Thunderbolt and lightning, very very frightening me..."

"Roger," I said. "That's not exactly the best song to sing in this situation."

"Oh yeah, sorry.... uhhh.... Keep yourself alive, keep yourself ali-"

"That's not a great pick either Roger... it's a bit ironic don't you think?" I muttered into his chest.

"God, you're picky.." he said under his breath.

I lifted my head slightly and glared at him.

"Uh... I mean... I love you." He said with a smile.

"How about this? Out here on street, we gather and meet and scruff up the sidewalk, with endlessly restless feet...."

Roger knew that was my favourite part of Drowse. I closed my eyes as he softly sang it to me and drifted off again.

I woke up again and Roger wasn't in the bed beside me anymore. I stretched and yawned and checked the clock beside me: it was 8pm.

Roger and I had gotten back from the cafe at around five so I was surprised I slept for this long, especially with the thunder.

I got out of bed and put the clothes Roger gave me on, seeing as we had both went to bed naked.

I strolled down the hall and into the kitchen where Roger was sitting at the table, his hands locked, looking very focused.

"Hey.." I said to him.

"Oh hey babes... Brian called me...He said Sharon left a message."

Sharon was taking care of our kids and I knew it wasn't going to be good. I sat down beside him.

"What is it?" I asked.

"He never said..." Roger replied, barely blinking, his eyes fixed on something.

"Should we call her?" I asked.

"Yeah... the phones in the hall."

"Aren't you coming?" I asked him.

"I don't think I want to know." Roger said, looking away from what his eyes were fixed on and looking at me. I could see pure fear in his eyes.

"I'll call..." I told him, placing my hand on his shoulder and going into the hall.

I dialled Sharons number and bit my nails as I waited for her to pick up.

"Hello?" She answered.

"Hi, Sharon it's Megan. What's wrong?"

"Well, Elly Mae has been complaining of a pain in her eyes.... I was wondering if that was normal?"

"Never heard her complain about that before, no."

"Okay... well, then she started to scream because she could only see black.... she told me she couldn't see anything."

"When did this happen?" I asked, worridley.

"About an hour ago. But she seems to be okay now.... what should I do?"

"Just wait there.... Roger and I will book a flight back to London and then bring her to the hospital. But if it happens again, can you bring her?"

"Of course."

"Okay, see you in a few hours."

I hung up and went back into the kitchen to Roger.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"She said that Elly told her she couldn't see.... everything was black."

"Did she bring her to the hospital?" He asked.

"No. We need to go to the airport. Now."

"Wait... there'll be no flights."

I sat at the table and screamed in anger.

Roger pulled me up and into a hug.

"Hey, hey, it's okay.... just relax okay? Sharon will take care of her. The first flight that goes to London tomorrow, we'll be on it." He told me.

I woke up the next morning to see the sky had cleared and it was now a sunny day.

Roger and I packed and got a taxi to the airport and bought our tickets for the flight.

We boarded the plane and left for London, my stomach in my mouth as I worried about my baby.

Roger sensed my fear as he was very sensitive to moods. He placed his hand on mine and then intertwined our fingers.

The plane arrived in Heathrow and I nearly puked, so very worried about Elly.

But I had Roger with me, he kept me positive. I didn't know what I would do without him.
