*1st of May 1975*

I woke up early and put the kettle on to make tea. I went into the sitting room and put on the television. I completely forgot about Freddie and I nearly died when I saw him on the couch. He woke up because of the kettle and groaned loudly. "Morning." I said, cleaning up the sitting room.
"What time is is?" He asked groggily. "Its..... 8:30." I said looking at the clock. He groaned again. "Can I have a cup of coffee please?" He asked. I nodded. "And why does my head hurt? And why does my body hurt too?" "Well you drank a lot last night and then you started dancing." Freddie covered his face in embarrassment. "Oh my god!" He said. I laughed and went into the kitchen to make his coffee. A ritual I had every morning was to make Roger a cup of tea, regardless of whether or not be was up and put it on his nightstand. I did the same thing this morning but to my surprise he was already up. "Hey baby, good morning." He said. "Are you talking to me or the kids?" I asked jokingly. "You obviously, they're not even in here dumbo." He said. "Hey! Do you want this tea or not?" I asked. He nodded. I gave it to him and got into bed beside him again. "This is a really nice cup of tea." He said. "You sound surprised." I said, laughing. He put it down and rolled over on top of me and kissed my lips. I wrapped my arms around my neck and kissed him back. He pulled my pyjamas off and took his underwear off. He made love to me and filled my body with utter pleasure. I kissed him all over and we lay back down. "Wow Roger," I said, out of breath. "I missed that!" Roger laughed. He pulled the cover over us and I lay on his chest. Freddie walked into the room.

"Hey guys I was just- Oh my lord, get a room." He said, disgusted. "Uh, this is our room?" I said, laughing. "Any ways, I was wondering if I could use your shower?" He asked. "Yeah go right ahead." Roger said. "Okay and you can get back to your.... shenanigans.." he said. "Oh don't worry we're done." Said Roger, annoying Freddie. "Ewww eww eww, don't want to here it!" He said, covering his ears.

We got up and went downstairs. I fed the kids and cleaned the house. Roger washed the dishes. Freddie came downstairs and said goodbye to us and then left. Me and Roger were done cleaning and we sat down on the couch. "What do you want to do today? It's Saturday, so I don't have work." I said. "Um.... why don't we go down to Truro?" Suggested Roger. "Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I'll get ready now." I said. I got the twins ready, washed and dressed them. I got dressed myself and put my makeup on. I was struggling to do my hair because it was growing out and I needed it cut. My eyesight had gotten worse and my doctor recommended that I wore my glasses more often instead of contacts so I wore them. I put on a black and pink summer dress that came down to my knees. I wore a pink cardigan over it. Roger wore a white shirt and jeans. I put sandals on. I put Elly in a blue dress and Aidan in denim shorts and a white shirt. He looked like Roger.

We got into the car and Roger started it. It took a while to start and I got worried. "Roger, maybe we should go on the train or something instead." "Yeah we probably should." He said sighing. His car was important to him and it upset him when it needed fixing. We went to the train station and bought a ticket to Cornwall. We took the bus to Truro.

A few hours later we arrived in Truro town and went to Rogers parents house. We knocked on the door but there was no answer. Roger asked a neighbour where they were. "Oh you must be their son. They're in the hospital. Your mother is sick." He told us. Roger ran from the house and we got the bus to the hospital. "Hello, I'm looking to see Winifred Taylor please." He said to the receptionist. "I'm sorry but I can't let you in." She said. "Please it's my mother." He said. "Oh well in that case, go ahead." We went to her room and she was lying in bed, hooked up to machines. Rogers eyes filled with tears when he saw her. "Hey son." Said Michael, putting his hand on Rogers shoulder. He shrugged it off. "Why didn't you tell me she was ill?" He shouted. "I didn't want to worry you." Roger scoffed. "Whats wrong with her?" He asked. "She's diabetic. In a diabetic coma." Said Michael. Roger put his hands to his face and cried. I put the twins down and hugged him. He cried into my shoulder as I rocked him. He was scared of losing his mother, because he never got to apologise.

We stayed at the hospital all day and Michael brought us back to his house. "How long has she been in for?" I asked. "A few days. She fainted on Wednesday. I brought her in but they just said she was dehydrated. It happened again and they kept her in." Roger had stopped crying but he looked miserable.

It was getting dark outside and Roger got up to leave. "No, no son, stay here for the night." Said Michael. "No we can't, really, we didn't bring much things for the kids." Said Roger. "Please, I could use the company." Said his dad. "Oh okay." Said roger. We got into bed in Rogers old room. I slept on the floor with the twins because Roger only had a single bed. He persisted that I slept in his bed, but eventually he gave in and fell asleep in it himself. I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I looked over at Roger. His eyebrows were furrowed, the face he makes when he's concentrating. He looked worried. I knew he was scared of losing his mum.
