Katniss POV- (The next night)
"Momma, my head hurts so bad." Willow cries.
I frown, "You'll be alright, baby girl. Your medicine should kick in soon and you'll feel a lot better."
"I know but it hurts so bad." She complains.
I sigh, "If it makes you feel better I don't feel good either."
"It don't make me feel better. What's wrong?"
"My head hurts too and my stomach as been aching today." I say truthfully.
"Does Daddy's head hurt too because if so we all have a problem." Willow says.
I laugh, "I guess he's fine since he's sleeping still."
She groans, "I wish that he would just wake up to take care of us."
I laugh a little, "It's okay, Willow. I can take care of you." I assure her.
"I know but you're hurting too and Daddy will make us both feel better."
"But you make me feel better too."
"And you make me feel better too but I still want Daddy." Willow says.
I snort, "But I want you to make me feel better because I love you."
"I love you too but I don't know how to fix you, Momma." Willow says dramatically.
I laugh, "Let's just go back to sleep."
"But Daddy will not know our heads hurt."
"He needs some rest, Willow. Let's go to your room and then we can try and go back to sleep. How does that sound?"
"Fine. That sounds good." She says.
"Come on." I say, shaking my head.
Walk out of the bathroom and back into my room, Peeta is still fast asleep.
"You won't leave me will you?" Willow asks me as we sneak out of my bedroom and across the hall to her room.
"No. I don't have the energy to move anywhere after I lay back down." I say truthfully.
I've been feeling kind of different all day and it's getting worse. I'm just super tired and achy all over and I have a horrible headache.
When we get into her room, I turn on the light and quietly close the door behind us.
"Here, Momma. I'll move Buttercup so you can lay with me." Willow says, picking up Buttercup who's nearly as big as her and just as heavy.
He hisses at me as I lay down next to Willow in his spot, "Oh hush." I say to the cat, rolling my eyes.
He prances down to the foot of the bed and lays back down.
I lay my head down on the pillow, facing Willow and she takes my hand, holding it to her chest, rubbing it softly with her other hand.
"I hope you feel better in the morning, Momma." She says.
I smile a little, "Thank you, I hope you feel better soon too."
"I'm not tired now, you know?" Willow tells me softly.
I laugh, "Why not?"
"Cause we slepted all day, remember?" She giggles.
I chuckle, "Yeah, but I'm still beat."
Willow laughs, "You're so silly, Momma."
"I know." I smile.
"Can I read you a bedtime story since I'm not tired?"
I sigh, "You know you really should get back to sleep."
"But Momma, please? I want to show you I can read."
"Doesn't your head hurt though?"
She shrugs, "Yes, but reading always makes me feel better."
I snort, "Fine. One story and then we have to go back to bed."
"Okay, good." She says sitting up and pulling her favorite book from under her pillow.
I chuckle, shaking my head, "No wonder you wake up with headaches, you keep a book under your pillow, crazy."
She giggles and I sit up, leaning over and flipping the lamp on.
Buttercup comes over and lays on my legs and I lean against the wall as Willow begins to read the story I've heard and read myself, a thousand times.
"Good job, Willow. You are a very good reader." I say proudly, giving her a high five as she finishes the book.
"Thank you." Willow says happily.
"You read just like Daddy does. Good job."
She smiles sleepily.
"Ready to get back to sleep now?" I ask her, looking at the clock.
It's 2 am.
"Yeah and my head don't hurt no more!" Willow tells me.
I laugh, "I'm glad. Now I'm exhausted so let's get back to sleep." I say, scooting back down into her bed, she lays her head on my chest and holds my hand.
"Goodnight, Momma." Willow whispers softly.
Uncomfortable with my current position, I turn a bit and that's when I feel a big pop and a gush of water.
****Whoop whoop two chapters in a day?! Let's see how far I get into the next chapter before I fall asleep! :)
