Katniss POV- (The next day)
"Welcome home, baby boy." I say softly as I carry Rye into our home, officially, for the very first time.
Peeta walks in behind me, carrying in a handful of stuff: Rye's carrier, a diaper bag and our hospital bag.
"Got it all?" I ask Peeta, laughing a little as I see him struggling to get it all through the door at once.
He chuckles, "I did. Lucky you, you only had to get the lightest thing." He smiles happily, giving me a kiss on the cheek and leaning down and kissing a sleeping Rye on the top of his little blond head.
"Willow should be here any minute. I'm so excited to see her." He says, unloading the bags and putting Rye's car seat in the front closet.
I sit down on the couch and hold Rye close to me, "So am I. We will finally be complete once she gets here." I say truthfully.
He smiles proudly, "I know we've heard this from everyone but I can't get over how little he is." Peeta says with a laugh.
"Me neither. Imagine how small he'd be if he would've come when he wanted to." I sigh, I couldn't imagine.
He nods, "That would've been absolutely insane."
"I think so too. And I just don't know how something so little could change everyone's hearts." I tell him truthfully.
Peeta takes a seat next to me and sighs, "Because babies are miracles."
"I think so too." I say truthfully.
I think pregnancy and babies are the coolest things in the world.
"And I think he's exactly what we needed to get over all the bad stuff that's happened to us lately." I say truthfully.
"Yeah and I know our bad days aren't over for good but maybe we will have some time before anything happens." He shrugs his shoulders.
"You know, I hate to sound horrible but if anything had to happen, I hope it happened to me before it happened to you, Willow or Rye." I say truthfully.
"Well, I hope it happens to me before it happens to any of you." Peeta says with a sigh.
"But nothing is going to happen. We will be just fine." I say, trying to sound positive.
"I know it will be okay." Peeta says.
I lean my head on Peeta's shoulder and he leans his head on mine, "I love you." Peeta says quietly.
"I love you too." I say back.
"Thank you for him." He whispers.
I smile, "You're welcome. Thank you for helping." I laugh.
Peeta just laughs, "It was my pleasure."
I chuckle, shaking my head.
"He's perfect and I'm so glad I have a son now. I have a daughter and a son and I couldn't be happier." Peeta says.
"Me either."
"I have a mini-Katniss and a mini-me now." Peeta smiles.
I laugh, "It's pretty cool, isn't it?"
"Especially since you are their Momma. It makes it even better." He says.
"Well, thank you." I smile.
"I couldn't imagine doing this with anyone else and I just want you to know that you are the best thing that's ever happened to me."
"You're the best thing that's ever happened to me too, Peeta." I say truthfully.
