Chapter Sixty

Katniss POV- (The next day)

"Come on, Skyler." I say.

She gives me an unsure look, "Come on." Peeta says, holding his hand out to her.

Skyler looks down and nervously walks towards where Peeta, Willow, Rye and I stand together.

"I'm not apart of your family though."

"Yes, you are." Peeta and I say in unison.

Clove smiles sympathetically at us, "Ready?" She says.

"One, two, three." She says and the camera clicks.

"Beautiful." Clove smiles.

Peeta scoops Willow up and Skyler moves away from us a bit and I walk towards Clove with Rye in my arms.

"Thank you so much for doing this." I say truthfully, embracing her.

"No problem. It's really nice what you are doing for her." She mumbles quietly to me.

I nod my head, "She's a really good kid."

"I can tell. She's absolutely gorgeous too."

I smile a little, "Yeah. I just don't know what's gonna happen after she leaves us. It's gonna break all of our hearts."

"Why don't you keep her?"

"Because, just, I am sorry I just don't want to talk about that right now." I say, getting flustered.

Peeta and I have tried discussing it multiple times the last few days and we just both get upset and flustered so we end the conversation.

"I'm sorry, Kat. I was just suggesting it."

"I know, I'm not mad. I just, I'm not sure what's going to happen."

Clove pats my shoulder, "It'll all work out."

I nod my head.

"I'm so excited to see how the pictures turned out. Willow looks just adorable today and so does Rye."

I smile, "Thank you."

"And you look beautiful." She says.

"Thank you, Clove."

She nods, "I will have these sent to you by tomorrow."

"Thank you so much." I say.

"Well, I've got to go. Cato is waiting for me at his house."

"Have fun." I say.

She laughs, "I'll try. Bye, Kat."

"Bye." I say.

Clove pats Rye on the head and waves to Peeta, Skyler and Willow and they wave back.

Afterwards Peeta and I take the girls to the lake.

"It's so pretty." Willow says happily as we arrive and sit at the edge of the water in a line.

Skyler just stares at the water.

"Your first trip to the lake and you're asleep." Peeta whispers to Rye, kissing his cheek.

I smile a little and lean my head on Peeta's strong arm.

He leans over and kisses the top of my head.

I look up at him as if to ask what the kiss was for and he just smiles at me.

I smile back and lay my head back down.

"There is some frogs, look Momma." Willow points, laughing as two frogs follow each other across the lily pads.
