Katniss POV- (The next day, 7am)

"I'm glad he finally smiles." I tell Skyler with a chuckle.

"Why do you think he did it all of a sudden? Do you really think it's because we were there?" Skyler asks me curiously.

"I'm not sure. Maybe so, I know I feel happier there." I admit, handing her a bowl of cereal.

"Thank you." She says.

"No problem." I smile and sit down next to her.

She sighs, "Thank you for letting me be apart of your family pictures yesterday."

"You're apart of our family now." I assure her.

"But I'm gonna leave eventually. What happens then?"

"You'll still be apart of our family." I say, knowing Peeta and I will do everything in our power to do so.

She sighs, "I wonder what will happen to my mom and what'll happen to me after they find her."

"I'm not sure." I say.

"Do you think I'll be alright?"

"I think you'll be just fine. Do you feel better than you did, being here?" I ask her curiously, hoping Peeta and I'd hard work is paying off-we've tried doing anything we can to assure she feels like she's at home.

She looks up at me, "I feel happier than I have ever felt."

I feel my heart warm.

"I'm glad."

"Me too." Skyler smiles shyly.

"Don't be shy. You get to being comfortable and you realize and you go back to being shy. I'm the same way but you don't have to be like that around here." I say.

"I know."

I sigh, "So Peeta is planning our vacation for a few weeks from now. You up for joining?"

Her eyes get big, "Will the people let me go?"

"They said you could go if you felt comfortable."

"I've never been outside of District 12 before."

"You don't have to go if you don't want to but we thought it would be a lot of fun for you."

"I would love to go if you want me to."

"We would love to take you, Skyler. It will be so much fun." I say.

She smiles, "Where would we go?"

"How about we keep it a surprise?" I say.

"I'm not a little kid."

"I know but surprises are good sometimes and I already told you about our vacation and Peeta told me not to so you better not tell him." I tease her.

Skyler laughs a little, "I don't think he could mad at you for anything."

"Don't be so sure of that, sweetie." I laugh.

"He's never seemed mad at you before."

"He gets mad at me, trust me."

"Do you get mad at him?" She asks me curiously.

I snort, "All the time."

She makes a shocked face.

"Why do you look so shocked?"

"Because you seem so happy."

"Remember how I told you that things like happiness or sadness don't always last?"
