Katniss POV-

"Katniss?" Dr. Coles says.

I look up, "Yeah?" I say, out of it.

"I need to do his evaluation and then we will bring him back to you unless I find something wrong." Dr. Coles says softly as the nurses silently clean up the room.

I sigh, not wanting her to take him from me but I know they need to go get him cleaned up and checked out.

i just hope everything is okay. He seems perfectly fine to me so hopefully that means we will be out of here at least by tomorrow or the next day.

"Do you think he's gonna have to stay on intensive care?" Peeta asks her nervously as he looks at Rye's tiny body.

She shakes her head, "Absolutely not. You'll be home tomorrow afternoon, I'm sure. He's small but he is gonna be just fine. He is breathing just fine and he seems content. I don't see anything wrong with him so there's no need unless something comes up strange. We will be monitoring him though."

I look up at Peeta, "Here, Katniss let them go tend to him so you can get some rest." Peeta says softly, picking him up out of my arms.

Immediately, I feel like I'm going to cry when Peeta takes him from me but I know I can't act like that.

I am gonna have to share him unfortunately but I just don't want my baby to leave me.

I softly press a kiss to his little blond head and Peeta gives me a little smile, kissing him too before he carefully places Rye in a little cart Dr. Coles has ready to take him to another room.

He stirs and kind of whimpers as Peeta lays him down but quickly, he goes back to sleep.

"I will bring him right back." She says and  heads out the door and I feel tears spring up in my eyes as she leaves with my baby boy.

"I'm going to take him down the hall." She tells us.

I hold back tears as a bunch of strangers clean up my room and make me deliver a bunch of disgusting stuff right after she leaves.

This is worse than my water breaking. I keep my eyes closed because I don't want to see it.

"Miss, if you'd like we could get you a change of clothes or if you brought some we'd be happy to help you change."

"I'll get her clothes and I can help her." Peeta tells them, standing up and grabbing our bag in the little in the corner.

"Mr. and Mrs. Mellark, since your baby is premature, we will supply some clothes for the first few weeks until he's able to fit into newborn clothes." She tells me with a smile.

"Okay. Thank you." I say.

The nurses clean up my room and Peeta helps me change clothes.

Afterwards, besides the immense pain I'm in-I feel a lot better.

Peeta sits down in the plastic chair next to my bed after everyone leaves, leaving us completely alone.

"Not to make you mad but Mason said you have a crowd-full downstairs."

I groan, "They'll have to wait until later. What time is it anyways?"

"2:15." He tells me.

I sigh, I was in labor since 8 o'clock this morning.

"How are you feeling?" Peeta asks me sympathetically.

"Horrible." I say truthfully.

Peeta frowns, "I'm so proud of you, you know." He says, patting my IV filled arm.
