Chapter Sixty-Eight

Katniss POV- (The next morning, 4am)

"Well, three of the five of us are awake. We could get a really early head start and leave soon?" Peeta says tiredly as I feed Rye in our bed next to him.

I let out a yawn, "Fine, but you can go wake the girls up."

He chuckles, "I will soon. After you finish feeding Rye, get dressed and I'll go change him and make sure we got everything ready for us all."

"Sounds good." I say, looking down at my sweet little baby who just stares up at me as he eats like a pig.

Even when he wakes me up this early I can't even be mad because he's so cute.

Peeta gets dressed and lays down next to me again.

"You're so warm." He says, putting his cold feet on my legs.

I snort, "And you're so cold."

He smirks.

I laugh tiredly, "You know you're not getting much done."

"I'm just gonna wait on Rye to finish so you don't have to walk in there to bring him to me."

I smile, "Aw. You are so sweet."

"I try." He chuckles, laying his head on my shoulder.

"Hey, Buddy." Peeta says in a baby voice.

It makes him smile a little and I can't help but to smile too, I love when Rye smiles.

His smile looks just like Peeta's and I love it.

"You ready to go on your very first vacation?" He asks him quietly.

Rye kicks his little legs and Peeta laughs, "I think that was a 'yes.'"

"Are you gonna be a good baby while we are driving?" I ask him in hopes.

He blinks his little eyes at me.

"I hope that was a 'yes.'" I say truthfully.

Traveling with a baby is hard, so hopefully he will just sleep through it all.

"Me too. If not, this trip is not going to be all that great." Peeta sighs.

"It'll be fine." I assure him, just having a good feeling about this trip.

He smiles, "I hope so. I think we will need it."

"I think that we will all have a good time." I say truthfully.

"Well, I am going to do everything I can to make sure we do." He smiles.

Peeta takes Rye and I get dressed and get our things all gathered up while he wakes up the girls.

At 4:30 we all get into the car and head for District 11.

We are planning on spending a day or two there, then heading to ten for a day or so and then so on and so forth.

It's gonna be a long trip but I'm so excited and so are Peeta and the girls.

Luckily, the first trip is only about two hours away, so leaving early was kind of pointless but it'll give us all day to do whatever we want and still visit Mason and Peeta's grandparents.

Willow and Rye sleep the entire way there and Skyler barely blinks an eye, even though it won't be light outside for another hour or two. But she doesn't want to miss anything.

"Did you tell them we were coming?" I ask Peeta as we pull into the ranch.

He nods, "I didn't tell them how early we were coming though but the guest house should be unlocked. We can go get some rest and then go down after a bit. It's only 6:30 and I'm sure my grandparents are still asleep."
