Katniss POV- (A few days later)

"I think that's your Daddy." I tell Rye softly as I hear a knock at the door.

I get up and we answer it.

"Hey, my loves." Peeta smiles happily, bringing in an armful of groceries in.

I smile and so does Rye, he kicks his little legs excitedly when he sees Peeta.

"Hey, Buddy. Are you hanging out with Momma?" He asks him.

I close the door behind him and he walks towards the kitchen, "I'm gonna put these up."

I nod and we go sit back on the couch.

"Are you happy he's back?" I ask Rye in a baby voice.

He smiles, letting out a raspy giggle.

"I'm happy too." I say truthfully.

Peeta comes in.

"Um, Skyler called while I was gone. She was gonna call back when she could talk to you too." He mentions.

"What did she say besides that?"

"That she misses us and that she doesn't like the people she's living with. She said she was going to tell them that she doesn't like it. She's hoping they'll bring her back to Twelve." Peeta says, sitting down next to me.

Rye leans towards Peeta, obviously wanting his attention.

Peeta takes him in his arms and Rye gets all excited.

"They won't do that, I'm sure." I say doubtfully.

"No, but she can at least try." Peeta says, staring into Rye's gray eyes.

"Mom is really upset about it still." I say.

"I know she is."

"And we are too." I say truthfully.

"Well, yeah." He sighs, looking at me.

I shrug my shoulders, "I just feel like I want her here but I love all the time we are getting with Willow and Rye."

"I know, Katniss. Maybe your mom will fight for her so we don't have to."

"She wants to. And I want her to."

"I mean as long as someone in town gets her, I would be okay with it. Just someone that we knew was safe and would treat her right. And someone who would let us see her whenever we wanted."

"Mom."

"Exactly. Maybe they'll end up listening to her. I don't know. I do think that she's old enough to make her own decisions though."

"I think so too."

"At her age, I had already made tons of life changing decisions." I say truthfully.

"So had I."

"The point is that she's old enough to choose and I don't care what the laws are, she needs to be able to make a decision. She's smart."

"No body is saying she isn't but I understand what you mean." Peeta says.

"It doesn't matter anyways. Maybe it's time for us to be out of her life. Our trial with her has ended." I suggest.

Peeta sighs, "Maybe."

I shrug, not wanting to discuss it any further. If gets us absolutely no where.

"Willow is still in her room?" Peeta asks after a second, realizing I was looking for a way to end that conversation.

"Yeah, she told me she was so very sleepy." I say, quoting her.
