Katniss POV-

I find Peeta's room and go inside.

The nurses are cleaning his cuts and unwrapping the bandaging on his leg.

He looks like he's in a lot of pain but he doesn't say anything, his eyes do light up when they see me.

"Hey." I say coming over to him.

He takes my hand and I watch as they clean the small wounds.

"Katniss, look away." He instructs me.

"What?" I ask.

"Don't look at my leg, it's gonna make you sick." Peeta says.

I turn my head, I don't want to see it anyways.

"Is it really really bad?"

"It's pretty bad." A nurse says.

I make a face and Peeta gives me a look.

"You'll be pretty sore for awhile but you will feel better after they get rid of it." A nurse says to Peeta.

I look at him.

"Get rid of what?" I ask.

"His-...damaged scar tissue and inflammation." The nurse says.

"Oh." I say and Peeta kisses my hand.

"Bristol was hoping you'd go see her while I was in my surgery." Peeta says.

I nod my head, "I was going to. I was going to tell her about everything."

He nods, "She will be alright, Katniss. I promise."

"Why do you think that?" I ask him softly.

"Because she had a feeling it was about to happen anyways."

"What?"

"Blake leaving her. Right before the wreck that's what we were talking about. She said she had a deep feeling he was cheating on her."

"Well, she was right."

"I think she will just be more upset about the things he said to Carter and how he just dropped the girls off at our house without even making sure they got in okay." Peeta says.

I nod my head.

"Okay, Mr. Mellark. We will be back at 4:55 to take you down."

I look up at the clock and see that it's 4:30.

I sit on the side of his hospital bed and he holds his bruised hand against my belly and his other hand on my back and we just stare at the floor.

"Willow wanted me to tell you that she misses you and she loves you so much and that you're the best Daddy ever. And that she hopes you feel better soon because she wants you to be home with us again." I pass on the message.

Peeta smiles sadly, "That's sweet. Tell her that I miss and love her too. And give her a big hug and kiss from me."

"I will." I say truthfully.

I can feel his blue eyes on me for the longest time and I look over at him.

"I love you." Peeta says.

I feel like I'm about to cry again, just because he looks like he's in so much pain.

"I love you too." I say and lean down, hugging him.

He holds me against him for a really long time and before I know it, the nurses are coming in to take him away.

"Ready?" The nurse asks Peeta.
