Chapter Sixty-Three

Katniss POV- (A few weeks later)

"I will see you tomorrow." I tell Willow, giving her a kiss on the nose.

"Okay." She frowns, nearly in tears.

I sigh, "Baby, it's only for tonight and we will be back to get you in the morning. And you have to help Grandma with Rye, she's gonna need your help." I say truthfully.

"But Skyler could help her and I could go with you."

"No you need to help her too and to be here so Skyler has someone, okay and Rye is a handful, remember?" I say.

"Yeah, Willow. Grandma and Skyler are gonna need your help taking care of him and you gotta make sure they do everything right." Peeta says teasingly.

My mother smiles a little and so does Skyler.

"Okay, but you promise you will come back to get me?"

"We promise. We will always come back." Peeta assures them.

"Good." She sighs dramatically.

"You have to be on your best behavior tonight and listen to Grandma and help her out, alright?" I tell her.

She nods.

"And do you remember what's happening next week?" Peeta asks her.

"Our vacation?" She says.

He nods, "And you have to be super good tonight or you can't go. Remember our deal?"

"Yes, sir."

He gives her a kiss and a hug, "I love you."

"I love you too." She says.

I tell Willow goodbye too.

"I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" Peeta tells Skyler.

She nods her head.

"Are you sure you're fine staying here?"

Skyler nods again, "I'll be okay."

"We will be back tomorrow morning. If you need us just call." I say.

I scoop Rye up out of my Mom's arms, "You be a good baby." I say softly, almost in tears.

"You'll be fine, huh Buddy?" Peeta says, giving him a kiss.

I lean down and kiss his forehead and give him a little squeeze, "I love you." I whisper softly to him and I put him in my mother's arms again, holding back tears.

It's the first time we've left him overnight or left him alone without one of us being there.

"You two just go have a really good time tonight and don't worry about us. We will all be fine and we will have lots of fun." My mother says.

"Thanks for watching them. I think Katniss and I really need this." Peeta smiles.

She nods.

"If you need anything or have problems just call Peeta or I and we will come right over."

"Sweetie, you're just going to be a few blocks away. I think we can handle it and I know there's not going to be any problems."

"I know but just in case."

Peeta sighs, "Come on, Katniss. We will call before bed, okay girls?" He tells Skyler and Willow.

They nod.

"We love you all and we will be back in the morning." Peeta says and he drags me out of my mother's house.

We get into the car and I'm still kind of upset.
