Katniss POV-

"Oh! What a surprise!" Mrs. Odair says excitedly as she answers the door.

"Hi, Finn's grandma." Willow says.

She chuckles, "Hi, Willow." She says giving her a hug and then hugging me and then Peeta.

"Oh my goodness. I can't wait to see him!" She says as she looks down beside Peeta where Rye is sleeping in his carrier.

I smile and she smiles back, "You look wonderful, Katniss. How are you feeling?"

"I feel nearly back to normal. I'm still a little emotional and I still kind of get agitated easily but it's getting better." I say.

"I understand. Well, come on in." Mrs. Odair says politely.

We go inside and Peeta takes Rye out of his carrier and hands him to me.

He ate about an hour ago and he's sound asleep so hopefully he stays that way or at least isn't cranky while we are away from the house.

"This is Rye." I say to her.

"Oh my goodness. He's so tiny." She says as I sit down next to her.

She looks over, "He looks like you with Peeta's hair." Mrs. Odair says.

I laugh a little and place him in her arms.

"He is cute, huh?" Willow says.

She chuckles, "He's adorable. Do you like being a big sister?"

"Uh huh. Except him cries a lot sometimes." Willow shrugs.

"Yeah, babies cry but they can't help it."

"I know. He just cries cause he is hungry."
Willow says.

Mrs. Odair smiles, nodding her head.

"He probably wouldn't have been here until next week but I guess he was ready." I chuckle.

"Well, that's alright. Isn't it, little guy." She says, rubbing his cheek.

"How is your mother doing?" Mrs. Odair asks me.

I sigh, "She's been good. I'm glad she's back."

"So am I. I've been meaning to visit her for awhile now but with work and all, I haven't had time to do anything."

"How is your husband?" Peeta asks her.

"He's great. He's been at a meeting in District 10 for a few days. Kat, has your mother had her surgery yet?"

"She did this morning." I say.

"Oh, how is she doing?"

"We haven't heard yet so I'm hoping she's alright." I shrug my shoulders.

I've been nervous about it but it's only 11 so hopefully we will get a call soon.

"I'm sure she's alright. She's a strong woman."

I nod my head.

"She will be just fine." Peeta says and Mrs. Odair nods in agreement.

"I've known her, how old are you and Finnick now?"

"Nearly 26." I say.

"I've known her 21 of those years and I know she wants to be here or she wouldn't be."

"I know that. I just wish she would've been here the whole time."

She frowns, "I know, darling. But you must understand her reasoning."
