Katniss POV-
"How did we meet?" I ask Peeta.
He sighs, "Well, the first day of our junior year all of your friends were in different classes than you and I happened to have the exact same schedule as you did. You were in a pretty bad mood and I wouldn't leave you alone."
"You were messing with me?" I ask.
He laughs, "No. I was just trying to talk to you. Something just felt right. You were mad because you didn't want to be friends with anyone. But, by the end of the day you decided you'd be my friend. Anyways long story short, that Friday, we were making pizza in my families bakery. We had a lot of fun and we almost kissed."
"We did?"
"But the ovens stopped us."
"Why?"
He laughs, "They beeped."
"Oh." I say, nodding my head.
"See, I have a picture right here." Peeta says.
"This was our first 'date' that wasn't really a date but it could've been." Peeta laughs, showing me a picture of us with pepperonis on our faces.
"What were we doing?" I ask him.
"We were making pizza. I kept asking you if you were done with whatever it was and you grabbed pizza sauce and stuck pepperonis on my cheeks. Then I put one on your nose. That's the moment I knew I was in love with you. You told me once that's when you knew too." Peeta says sadly.
I nod, "Well, did we start dating after that?"
"No. Not for a few weeks. Some rough stuff happened between us and we were mad for awhile but one day you were determined to fix it so you came and my dad dragged me out of bed and we talked in my bedroom. I remember I was convinced you'd fallen in love with someone else and I was mad because it wasn't me."
"That's funny."
"Kind of stupid, I know but it happened. And the thing that started your bad mood on the first day of school was that all your friends were in relationships and you'd never wanted one until the night before we even met. Anyways, back to the night we made up, I told you about my assumptions and you kissed me. It was probably one of the most passionate kisses we've ever shared." Peeta explains.
I smile a little, "And we have two kids?"
"We were obviously horny teenagers." Peeta jokes.
I chuckle, "Did we start dating after that?"
"No. It was late and I drove you to my grandparents ranch in Eleven. We talked for awhile and you fell asleep. I drove us home and asked were you wanted to go. To my house or yours. You said mine. So we did. I put you in my bed and went downstairs. My brother convinced me to ask you out so the next day we went back to the ranch and spent the whole day together. I took you to this place my grandpa had shown me when I was little. It's called a rock pit. You love it even to this day. Anyways, I asked you if I could have a shot at being your 'Missing Piece' is what you called it."
"My Missing Piece?" I repeat.
He nods his head, "When Rye was born you told me you finally felt complete. That all your missing pieces had been found."
"That's really really cool, Peeta." I say truthfully.
Our love sounds extraordinary.
"I'm sorry I'm not explaining every single thing to you but I'm doing my best. I'm just getting carried away. It's hard, you know?"
