A few days later
I dropped all my bags at the door and groaned. I was glad to be home but now it meant reviewing and whilst I was tired.. That's the last thing I wanted to do.
Taking myself to the bathroom I ran a bath and stripped off. Pouring plenty of bubble bath into the hot water before I placed it back and climbed in. Taking the water up to my chin I laid there thinking of the night before.
Last night I had investigated at Bonnie Springs, after a chat to Angry Joe and the owner of the Ranch I was allowed to film. Only I hadn't caught much...
I had spent the night running around in the dark pushing the spirits to interact... Each time amounted to nothing, the only time I got any kind of evidence was footsteps which could be mistaken for mine. As it happened in the same room and one EVP that says 'Just let me help you.'
Even the spirits knew it sucked. There was no way I could make anything out of the whole night. Two small bits of evidence and one of which would be passed off instantly.
I sighed remembering my desperate attempts at trying to get evidence. I thought of everything and couldn't help feel bitter towards Zak for the equipment he had. If I had that then at least I could have seen the spirits! But I didn't and I had nothing good to show for it.
I had a small hope that maybe one of my static cameras captured something... But I doubted it.
I bathed and washed my skin and hair free of any dust and dirt that may have been on my skin before climbing out.
Pulling on pjs I brushed my hair free from knots before face planting my bed. This is where I should have been last night. Here. Nowhere else.
Patting the bed I found my phone and clicked on the home button. I had one text from Zak saying hi, but didn't reply and simply crawled up between the pillows and passed out.

It was early arvo I when I was shook awake by a pair of hands instantly making me fight them.
Once my hand connected with a face the hands let go.
"Fuck, what a cracker of a shot."
I rubbed my eyes awake to see Zak stood in my bedroom. My eyes widened when I saw the red handprint across his cheek.
"Oh no.." I whispered.
"Oh no? More like owh!" He moaned and wiggled his jaw slightly.
"I'm sorry. Wait. Why are you in my bedroom?" I asked folding my arms.
"I've been ringing you. When you answered and kept calling out for help I got worried." He answered making me frown. "You must have been dreaming..."
"Oh." I replied looking around for my phone. Finding it I saw the call was still connected.
"You're still on the phone?" I asked looking up from my phone to Zak.
"Of course I am. I thought you needed help Kaylee, I'm hardly going to hang up. Are you okay? There's nobody here is there?" He asked looking around us.
"J-just me. But how did... How did you get in?" I asked confused.
"Your front door was wide open. I came in prepared to fight, just not you. Damn girl that slap was good."
"I- I'm really sorry. I had no idea, just had hands and well... That sent me into a panic." I answered embarrassed.
"Kiss it better?" He asked with a smirk.
