Light humming filled the air as I slowly woke, covered in a blanket, my eyes opened to a strange surroundings. It was then I realised we were in a car.

"Good morning.." Zak whispered making me sit up and rub my eyes. His fingers turned the dial down to the radio making me frown slightly, he put it on to have a listen yet turned it down.. I guess he wanted to speak.

"Wh- when did we leave?" I yawned sorting the car seat out so that I was now sat up properly.

"Few minutes ago."

I shrugged, we were still in Vegas, I knew that much.

"Hi." Aaron spoke causing me to scream and spin around in my seat.

"Surprise?" He laughed as I glared at him and Zak.

"What the hell! Jesus Aaron!" I huffed holding my chest.

"Aww sorry. I should have made myself known before. We are just going to get Bacon and the RV. Then we are luxury cruising." He smiled.

I shook my head and sat back against the seat looking out the window. Zak's hand placed itself on my knee which had began to bounce, I gave his had a squeeze before holding onto it. My eyes trailed over to his opposite hand, slightly red from the impact of hitting Pete last night.

"It's fine." He announced as if he knew I was going to ask. I gave him a nod and looked away wondering what on earth Pete's face looked like and if he had rang the police. I hoped Andy had managed to talk him down and that Zak wouldn't be facing charges of assault. If he knocked him out then I could guarantee that the punch was a hard one.

"You nervous?" Aaron asked making my attention turn to him.

"About?"

"About lockdown.."

"Aaron!" Zak snapped using the mirror to look at him. "She's not going in. I told you. My decision is final."

"At least let Kaylee decide before you take control. What if she wanted to get back into the swing of things? She is an investigator. That horse needs to be mounted again." Aaron replied making his point.

"Kaylee?" Zak asked noticing my silence between them.

"I- not yet." I shook my head looking away from them. I didn't miss Aaron's pat on my shoulder before he settled back in his seat.

"It's no problem, just take it easy, be fun to have someone else on the road. Zak and Bacon get boring after a while." Aaron responded making Zak open his mouth.

We turned off and soon pulled up at a house where a large RV sat.

"This it?" I asked looking at Zak who nodded.

"You don't li-"

"This is awesome!" I grinned getting out quickly and racing to the RV. The door was open so I went straight in to see Bacon shoving his bag away.

"Hey Kaylee."

"Hey, how are you?" I asked as we exchanged a friendly kiss on the cheek and quick hug. It was barely a second but I didn't miss Zak's face when I pulled away. Ignoring the moment I took in the large bed at the back, all I wanted was Zak and a bed for quality snuggling.

I went up to the bed and sat down carefully before laying back. The bed moulded to my body shape perfectly giving me comfort and peace.

I let out a sigh before looking down the RV to see the boys running back and forth with cases, placing them inside. It wasn't long before the doors were shut and we were heading off.

Rolled up in my own little world I didn't realise Zak had came and laid beside me until I tried to starfish.

"Morning." He smiled as my head whipped up to see what I had hit.

"Oh snuggle!" I grinned flopping on his chest and pulling my body closer to his.

With a fidget Zak rested beside me and began playing with my hair. My fingers had been twisting his rosary around unconsciously when his hand stopped me.

"You're worrying." He whispered.

"Of course I am.. So why aren't you?" I asked looking up at him.

"I did what I did. There's no denying that I hit him. But he deserved it for what he said about you."

"Thank you.. For defending me. I just hope you don't get into trouble." I mumbled.

"I'll be fine. If I do, well I have a good team to keep it quiet. Stop worrying and just enjoy this new found freedom."

"Hmm.. Until we get back because I'm going to need a new job so that my apartment isn't taken off me and my car isn't repo'd."

"That's what we like, always positive." He chuckled making me nudge him playfully.

"So we're are we going? Or are you dragging me across state and I'm suppose to naturally submit and comply."

"Now wouldn't that be a lovely thought?" He asked making me look up so he could see my eye roll. "We are heading to Anamosa, Iowa."

"And what is in Anamosa, Iowa?" I asked.

"Edinburgh manor. 150 year old manor where an entity chokes and terrorises people." He answered calmly as I looked up at him.

"I-"

"That's why you aren't coming in on this lockdown, help us prepare, no problem but for being lockdown in a place where it's said the entity is called The Joker, and no, I don't think the owners are massive Batman fans." He replied making me smile slightly.

"That's over a 1000 miles away, why aren't you guys flying?"

"I prefer to RV, we get to have Bacon with us and we get to see the countryside." Zak replied.

"Well I hop-"

"Ahh. These aren't the droids you've been looking for!" Aaron spoke walking up the RV filming us.

"Dude..." Both me and Zak groaned, I buried my face in Zak's side.

"Bro, come on. You know you can't put Kay on your snap.." Zak spoke making me almost lift my head.if I didn't know any better I would have presumed he was embarrassed of me.  But i knew what a strong fan base they had and I wouldn't want anything to jeopardise  that. Not even me.

"So what else is at this manor? May I ask?" I quizzed Zak.

"You may, it housed the incurably insane and has over 100 documented deaths."

"Oh wow." I whispered.

"Hmm." He replied rubbing my back.

"You double checked though, haven't you? That there's nothing else lingering about?" I asked.

"You mean demons?"

I nodded.

"I've asked and got all the info, we are going to look for The Joker, that's all. I wouldn't let you near the place if I though one of those were on the property. Trust me."

"I do," I smiled placing my head back down on his chest.

"Good.. Now let's get some sleep. We have 1000 miles to snuggle."

"Mmm sounds good to me." I smiled closing my eyes.

I was glad Zak picked the RV, it would take a while to get anywhere which meant more time away from Vegas...
