It's nice to go away... But even better to be home!

Tossing the last bag into the RV I look at the lodge and smiled. In the last few days a lot had happened between myself and Zak. We'd argued, laughed, cried, had a pregnancy scare, made love, lived as a little dysfunctional family for a few days and finally, we'd made a promise to cement the rest of our lives together.

"Ready to head back to reality?" Zak asked standing beside me.

I nodded "I wanna cuddle with Gracie."

He smiled stroking my hair back before placing a kiss on my forehead, "There's nothing I love more than seeing my two girls together."

With Aaron as Bacon's co pilot up front, myself and Zak climbed in and sat in the back snuggled into the sofa bed. As Zak decided to check out what was on Apple TV, I pulled the blanket over us and got snuggled into him.

"Bye lodge." I sighed as we left it behind.

"You enjoyed staying there didn't you?" Zak asked looking at me with a small smile.

I nodded "Yeah, I see what you meant about the little holiday feel. Still nothing will beat our own bed."

"I hear you on that." He replied picking a film.

It wasn't until we were 30 minutes into the film that I realised he had put on Mad Max. I guess from between my phone and the laptop I hadn't been taking much notice.

"Still working huh?" He asked looking at the screen.

"Yep. Want to send these to the channel.." I took the remote and paused it before placing the laptop onto his lap for his approval. After a flick through he stopped and smiled seeing a photo I had took of him and Henry , the hotel owners dog.

"Henry was a cool dog... Send all of them." He answered passing it back.

I followed his orders and sent them all in an email for the channel to review. My phone pinged at the side of me, casting my eyes to the screen I shook my head and turned it on silent.

"Who was that?" He asked.

"Nobody important.. Not anymore." I answered.

"No way is it Eric.. What did he say?" Zak asked getting my phone. I watched his face go from amused to flat. "It's Elle."

"I know it's Elle."

"So why don't you text her back?" He asked holding the phone out for me to take.

"The same reason I threw her out of my apartment. She tried to manipulate me into kicking you to the curb over some rumours. She should have known better than to throw mud when she isn't squeaky herself." I replied taking it from him and putting it down on the side.

"You shouldn't have done that though.."

I turned "It hasn't bothered you up until now? Zak I'm quiet happy not having someone leak poison into my ear about the person I love. Maybe you are accustomed to having people chat shit about you and the people you love because of the line of work you are in. But I'm not-"

"Woah okay, don't turn this on me."

"Well.. Don't make out that she's an angel." I sighed shutting the laptop down and turning back to the paused TV.

"Are you mad at me now?"

"No, just annoyed that you think it's okay for people to talk and treat you like shit. Maybe it's a biased opinion that I think everyone should be nice to you, you're an incredibly intelligent and nice gentleman. Just because some individuals have issues doesn't mean that everyone else has to."

"True.. But I was a bit of a jerk off back in the partying days." He defended.

"And college kids aren't these days? Those kids that used to bully you weren't jerk offs? Please.." I paused. "Please do not sit there and even accept that you deserved half the shit you were dealt because it makes my stomach twist in pure anger just thinking about it."
