Demons without Desire

Its a yes from me.

A few weeks later..

"What is this?!" I asked Zak getting out RV.

"She's awake guys.. I'm in for it already." He joked with the crew before turning to face me.

"That my love, is a coat.." He replied full of sass.

"The same coat I asked you to send back cause it was over $300 dollars?" I asked holding my ground.

"You know what?" He looked at it up and down before smiling "The very one."

"$300 friggin dollars. Are you kidding me right now?!" I whispered harshly.

"You needed a decent coat."

"You need a decent set of hearing aids cause you didn't hear me tell you to send it back, did you?!" I spoke.

"I did.. But I ignored you." He smiled and kissed my head making me push away from him.

"You're such a toad." I snapped.

Aaron laughed beside me making me look over at him. "And this was how it all started.." He said making me frown.

"Huh?"

"The Goldfield hotel? You don't remember? You called him a cane toad." Aaron reminded me. It clicked and I instantly looked at Zak who was with their road manager Dan.

"Yeah but the toad turned into my prince." I sighed with haste.

"Only because you let him. He's a jerk pretty much 75% of the time.. But only certain people see that other 25%. And you Kaylee, you always get that 25%.  A relationship is about looking after each other and if the only way he knows how to show his love is to buy things.. Then you need to teach him another way, not have a go at him."

I took what Aaron said on board and realised how ungrateful I looked. I went over to Zak and took his hand going behind the RV away from the others.

"What's up?" He asked looking at my face for the problem.

I grabbed his face and gave him a kiss before letting him go "Nothing. I just want you to know I love you. Always."

He smiled and leant forward "Does this mean I'm right about the coat?"

I rolled my eyes and hooked my arms around his neck "Just this once..Bagans."

He grinned and hugged me against him tightly before moving away. I felt his fingers around my neck until he felt the rosary beads.

"Good. We ready?" He asked making me nod and let him go to fix my coat. "Looks good on as well, seems I have good taste in clothes and women. I'll look forward to you becoming Bagans one day." He said giving me a wink before disappearing.

I smiled to myself liking the idea of having a fiancé. I walked around the RV to see the crew with their cameras set up. Picking up my digital camera, I hooked it around my neck before looking at Zak and giving him a wink back.

"Let's go introduce ourselves." He said and lead the way to our location.

I walked with them feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness and pride. I might not have ended up in the job position I wanted straightaway but I saw Zak's side... He was giving me experience as well as a chance to make myself known on his show before I went at it alone. I've learnt that since the Goldfield hotel lockdown that I've always been part of their family, it was myself who was restricting me from joining them.

I also learnt that the man I considered a toad was my Prince Charming after all. That I had got into the very core of him and allowed him to open up for the first time since his ex did him wrong. I returned allowed him into my life after Eric.
