Edinburgh Manor, Iowa.

I looked up at the manor, taking in its size and large amount of Windows.

"This place.... Is huge." I spoke standing beside Zak who had hold of my hand.

We had been to the hotel, and dropped off out things before curiosity got the better of Zak and he insisted we went over to the location to check it out.

"It is big.." He answered. I watched his facial expressions for a while wondering how he was feeling. I wasn't one personally, but I could imagine being an empath or even a sensitive was hard for him. He picked up a lot of energy, from environment to moods. But even being stood here now, I could feels something.. And I didn't know what.

"Kaylee..."

"Hmm?" I turned to Zak who's face looked pained.

"You- you're crushing my hand."

I dropped his hand instantly and watched as he rubbed it slightly "This is too soon for you, isn't it? I should of left you at the hotel. I'm sorry."

"I feel sick." I announced as I fought through what I was feeling.

"Have you eaten?"

I nodded and stepped away from him closing my eyes.

"Describe it." Zak said coming around me to see my face.

"I- I just feel sick. I can't explain it other than that."

"Emotions.. Anything?"

I concentrated only for my body to urge, pushing him away I held out my hand as Aaron gave me a bottle of water.

"Anger, confusion. Sadness, hate, loneliness, but there's happine- what's going on with me?" I asked Zak as he rubbed my back slowly.

"That... That's energy, you're picking it up."

"Yeah I don't want to pick it up anymore.. It's making me feel sick."

"You have to learn how to build a barrier, between your energy and the location. Can you do that?"

I shook my head "I don't know how. I- this is stupid."

Straightening up, my eyes landed on the windows causing me to startle back.  My hand grabbed my rosary as I whispered the Lord's Prayer over in my mind.

"Tell me." Zak demanded.

"Why do I feel as though there is someone in every single window?" I watched him turn taking it in before looking back at me.

"How would you feel about coming in on the lockdown?" He asked.

"Zak. She's struggling now." Aaron bit.

"Slowly. Walk through only. I need to know I can get out."

Zak smiled and shot a look towards Aaron before taking my hand "I need you to develop this, I know it's hard sweetie but this is what will take you further in the field."

"Hmm.." I grumbled not entirely sure if I was truly comfortable with this or if I am simply doing it to please Zak.

We progressed to the steps when I pulled back, overwhelming emotions took hold and I began to panic.

"I can't do this.. I can't. I can't do this, it will happen again. I'll lose control again. No, no this can't happen I need to be me, I need my body this is me. This is mine." I rambled as Zak guided me away.

"Deep breath."

I sucked in air hard and pushed it out but even my lungs were fighting against the air as if it was a trespass on my body.

"Kaylee you are going to hyperventilate. Calm down."

"I-ca-ca-nt!"

"Focus on me, look at me!" Zak demanded but my lungs were on the double.

"Zak she isn't stopping." Aaron spoke.

"I know bro! What the hell do I do?!" He asked looking concerned.

The building was getting bigger, everything around me is getting bigger.

"Take this." Aaron pushed a camera into Zak's hand and cocked his head to the side.

"I'm sorry... But it will work." Aaron spoke.

"Bro you're not gonna hit her!" Zak shot at him.

"I'm not but right now she's pushing all the carbon dioxide out of her body, she needs that as well as oxygen."

"You got a paper bag?" Zak asked.

Aaron didn't reply but a hand went over my mouth and nose. My lungs pulled for air as I began to suffocate in Aaron's arms. Panic picked up and I began fighting against his hand trying to prise it away.

"Hold on.. Just hold on!" Aaron shouted at me as I clawed at his gloves.

"Bro.."

His hand was removed causing me to gasp for air. As I stopped his hand went back across my mouth causing Zak to hold my wrists.

"Trust us.. Please trust me." He urged as I fought against Aaron.

"Look at Zak's chest. Look. Now he's gonna take a breath and hold it, you're gonna do the same."

My eyes watched Zak's chest rise, as he released slowly I had to do mine slowly.

"Again."

Aaron's hand sealed my mouth and nose each time ensuring that the breath in my lungs stayed in there until Zak released his.

After ten minutes we were done, I was exhausted from the panic attack and was sat in the car with my head leant against the door, whilst they did the walk through.

I closed my eyes to settle into sleep when I saw the hotel and hundreds of its old residents banging at the Windows to get out. Some were normal and others looked like zombies.

Startling awake I braved myself to look at the windows of the hospital. After a three count I looked to see nobody banging or scratching at the Windows.

Letting out a nervous laugh I pulled Zak's cost around me tighter taking in the smell of his cologne as I did.

He stepped out the building followed by the crew and some other people who I didn't know. Seeing me he tapped Aaron's shoulder and jogged over to the car opening my door.

"Hey, you're finally awake." He smiled.

"Finally? I've been out less than 2 minutes." I smiled.

His face frowned "you've been asleep almost four hours." He replied placing a hand on my forehead.

"What? I've literally only just stopped having a panic attack. I had a nightmare and woke up."

"Yeah... Four hours ago. Let me look at you." Zak took my face in his hands and looked over me carefully.

"How do you feel now?" He asked.

"Okay. Are you sure? Cause you haven't left me that long."

"Kay, I've done all the interviews, an experiment and I've also got the reenactments plan sorted. You've been out a long time." He answered stroking his thumb across my face.

"Oh.."

"Don't worry, you obviously needed the sleep. Tell you what? Let's wrap this up here and we can go back to the hotel, get food and snuggle until I have lockdown tonight?"

I smiled "Sounds perfect."

"Okay. Okay good," he kissed my forehead "Love you."

I grinned "You said it today.. Twice."

"Cause I do. Right, I won't be long. Kiss?"

I pecked him on the lips and sat back against the seat in the car.

"Stay safe and keep warm." He smiled before closing the door and going back to the crew.

I had fallen asleep for four hours? It felt like 2 minutes.. I looked at the manor and shook my head. Paranormal investigating might be over for me if I don't get a grip on this now...
