Demons without Desire

Lets do what makes us happy.

The morning had just begun as the sun rose, still trying break through the clouds it left the room a little dark still whilst the sky outside was a light grey.

With his messy hair, naked body and lips parted Zak slept silently beside me. I had been watching him a little while and now I could see him, I didn't want to look away.

"You're creeping me out." He mumbled.

"You're dribbling." I whispered to him. He closed his mouth and turned his head the other way. I pouted and waited, sure enough he turned back to make sure I was still on the bed beside him. His hand took mine and he closed his eyes to go off again when I spoke.

"I want to make you happy."

He frowned and opened one eye "You do make me happy. In fact last night you made me very happy."

"Zak, I'm being serious." I whispered.

"I know, but I'm telling you the truth.." He answered

"So I've decided.. I'm gonna do it." I replied, confirming the choice to myself with a nod.

"Do what?"

"Take Ash's place.. Temporarily."

His eyes opened instantly as he looked at me "Are you serious?"

I nodded "Yes. I want to be with you. I guess I'm needy but I just want to spend all my waking moments with you and all my sleeping moments beside you.

Zak smiled and kissed my knuckles. "This is good news."

I smiled back with a nod. "But with good news comes celebrating..." He hinted.

"Yo-you've just woke up." I whispered.

"Exactly. What have you done to me?" He asked creeping over and pulling the bedding over our heads as I giggled.

I woke up to the sun being out and shining brightly, stretching away this mornings activities I got up out of bed and pulled on my satin robe. With Zak nowhere in sight I headed off to find him, hearing a few pans in the kitchen clink together I went in and found him typing furiously at the laptop.

"You left me in bed." I said making my way across the kitchen.

"I couldn't wait to email the channel and let them know.. That's if you haven't changed your mind?"

I shook my head and slipped in front of him and the laptop looking up at him innocently.

"Can I help?" He asked with a smile.

"Definitely..." I undid the robe and let it fall to the floor. He let out a long breath taking my body in.

"You're making me cr-"

"Morning Zak!" Billy sang. I gasped and grabbed Zak against my body using him to shield me.

"Oh hey Ka- oh. I'll just- ha," Billy walked out the kitchen instantly.
As soon as he disappeared I pushed Zak away and grabbed my robe pulling it on and around me.

Zak got a swipe as he had been chuckling as the scene unfolded.

"You could of warned me Billy was coming back over." I hissed knowing I was red faced.

"I was distracted. You seemed determined and well I didn't want to stop you."

I shook my head at him annoyed. "Oh relax, he didn't see anything just a shocked face."

"Hmm.. Let's hope so."

"Well I didn't expect you to want a little rendezvous in the kitchen this morning especially after early this morning." He replied.

"Well you bring it out in me." I countered throwing him a look.

I returned back to the bedroom and began tidying it up from the mess we had made last night as well as his shoes that he had left in the bathroom. I took a shower and changed when Zak came in looking for me.

"Hey?"

"Hey, I got Aaron coming over. So we can all go through your contract." He said.

"Has anyone spoke to Jay?"

He nodded his head "Yeah, I tried to get Ash to video call us but Jay said she is in a bad way. I explained and he is more than happy."

"Okay.." I responded.

Aaron arrived shortly after, we all sat down and went through the contract together. Making sure I understood every little clause, detail and indentation.

We also fixed a few things on the contract such as the time duration, I crossed off permanent and placed temporary with my own clause of until Ash comes back. I refused to take her job, it was a shame she had felt that the only way to protect herself was to leave the crew. It had struck a nerve within Zak, I saw that on the footage of the Halloween special, but what I saw was all that conversation, and just what made Zak remove his sunglasses and wipe his eyes..

Zak placed his hand on my thigh and pushed a pen towards my hand "Are you ready?"

I picked up the pen and signed the piece of paper before placing it down and looking at him.

"I'm your new boss." He smiled.

"That you are."

"Okay... Before you two get all coupley and make me sick I'm gonna take this and Billy." Aaron said making me laugh quietly.

"Welcome to the family Kaylee." Billy smiled giving me a quick hug.

"Thanks Billy." I replied and looked at Aaron. "Come on! Bring it in!"

He grinned and pulled me into a tight hug almost crushing my ribs. "You're gonna love being on the road."

"I wanted to see America, well I certainly will now!" I answered as Aaron let me go.

"Hell yeah you will." He replied and have Zak a quick man hug with a slap on the back.

"Come on Bill, I need you to drive me."

"Sure thing, I'll come over tomorrow or somewhen for evidence. I've got 2 discs." He informed Zak showing him.

"Okay man. See you later." We saw them out before Zak turned to me.

"That's it. You're my minion."

"The hell I am when I'm home." I replied playfully walking away.

"Uh, you're on the clock now." He spoke sliding in front of me.

"I'm going-"

"To the bedroom. Absolutely right." He smirked and picked me up onto his waist.

"We have things to do today.." I informed him.

"Yeah, all the things that can wait.." He replied kicking the bedroom door closed making me giggle.

"Okay.. We can do whatever you want." I spoke making him grin. "Only if you win at wrestling.."

What I didn't expect was him to start so quick.

"AND FIGHT!" I yelled as we began playfighting on the bed.
