Utah.
I parked the car and got out at the location taking a look at its large white walls and small black windows. I found it odd that the owners never converted them into bigger windows but if they did that then it would lose it's character as being an old Inn. The surroundings were unusual, from where we were this whole house was sectioned away from the community. You could see the town it was part of a mile away. The building was accompanied by green fields which had been cut short leaving small patches of dead grass on show.
Walking up to the front door I knocked and waited patiently until the door opened to a man and his wife, they both smiled and shook my hand.
"My name is Kaylee, I'm here to investigate."
"I'm Oliver, this is my wife Ma-"
"Can we do this outside?" She interrupted and gave me a small smile.
"Of course." I replied stepping away.
"Sorry.. I hate this place but Oliver doesn't like coming here alone either." She explained.
"It's fine. I understand."
"Really? You do this for a living.. I don't know how you do it. I'm terrified of this place and you want to be in it. Alone. All night." She reminded me.
"Yep, its what I do." I laughed.
After we settled on how I was going to do this and fixing what to do in an emergency along with the incidentals, I set up a camera and got a walk through of everything that had happened in the building from what was recorded. They had 4 deaths of natural causes, 2 stabbings from the old inn days, one reportedly died in the driveway, satanic worship and sacrifice in the basement and it's believed witches owned the house.
"Whoa what a location." I laughed a little nervously, I had bitten off more than I could chew and that was before he mentioned the demons.
"Why is it so active do you think?" I asked.
"The water was redirected around the house, I believe it stopped a flow of energy and opened a portal, now anything can come in and go out."
I nodded understanding I had decided to interview Mary and Oliver separately and within the house. Mary was shaking like a lamb and eager to leave as I began conducting the interview. So I moved us into the back garden which made her visibly relax. After interviews were done I was given the keys.
"Good luck." Oliver whispered before getting into the car with Mary and taking off.
I stood looking at the building and smirked. "Your ass is mine." I spoke tossing the keys into the air and catching them again.I headed into the small town finding a B&B for the night knowing by tomorrow I was going to be all hands on deck working as hard and fast as possible to make up for the Goldfield hotel.
I thought the house was a little creepy, that was until I got to a B&B, the woman behind the counter was as equally as scary with her wild white hair and cold blue eyes, she was in black and had a picture of a black cat on the wall..
Secret witch.
Taking my bags up to my room I flopped onto the bed and got comfortable, tiredness was behind my eyes but my head was singing a tune that was going to drive me insane. I closed my eyes when Zak's face flashed up making me open them again, after a fight for more than an hour, I gave in and submitted to sleep for the night.

The morning came around fast, super sonic fast!
I was up and out by 8am skipping the breakfast part of my stay in case I got boiled rat or a ravens claw. My assumptions of witches were totally based on TV cartoons, but I had never met one in real life so the cartoon one is all I had to compare it by.
Zak has a small team to do meaningless shit like find a base and set up all the equipment, and carry cases in. The voice in my head was still being that bitch but I had learnt to shut her up, but only if I kept myself busy.
I had cables all over the house, plugged into the backs of cameras, as well as a boom mic set up in the lounge which was previously the bar area, I hoped to catch some residual sounds. I also set up a static night vision camera in the back of my car so I could cover the drive in case some spirit decided to head towards the house for a tipple tonight.
As a trigger I brought a deck of cards, some beer and set up a table and chairs in the centre of the room. Placing the cards down in a random poker hand I positioned the camera to film them.
I was impressed, I did a swell job for a investigation this size on my own, I couldn't help but think how awesome this would be if I had a Kinect camera to cover the table in case I caught a card game going down.
Pulling out my phone I looked at my messages to find no new ones from Zak. I sighed and looked on his social networking accounts, he was snapping and laughing so I guess he was okay and it was just me licking my wounds.
I slumped on the chair and watched the videos he had posted before getting upset. I wiped my face from any tears and stood up pushing my mind onto the lockdown tonight. Now all I had to do was wait until Sundown.
I headed back into town and picked up snacks, drinks and fresh batteries for my torch in case for whatever reason I needed it, I would have it. Speaking to a few locals I found out that the house also used to be a brothel, something the owners never mentioned.
That alone peaked my interest and I found myself at the library in the archives, after asking for help the librarian pulled up the information for me. The 4 deaths all happened to be women of the night who had abusive customers, 2 were beaten to death in the rooms upstairs, one was strangled and the other smothered.
4 brutal deaths... All of which were women. That's not to mention the other deaths within the house.
Suddenly I felt a little overwhelmed with this but had nobody to call for back up. I had no option.. I had to do this lockdown alone.
