The drive to the hotel was quiet, apart from the radio and the conversation between Zak and Bacon.

I would take an occasions look at Zak who would be in thought or in conversation. He really didn't deserve that comment..

But neither did I. To say that the inner argument ended there would only be a lie. Even as we arrived at Hotel Metlen, I was still kicking myself, even stopping before getting off the RV to cuss myself out loud.

"Hey half pint." Aaron grinned coming over to me.

"Hey. How's the hotel?" I asked lifting my fist up to bump his.

"Good, the lodge?"

"Tense." Bacon answered as he passed.

I rolled my eyes and began fiddling with the camera. "What has happened?" Aaron asked.

"It's nothing. Just me being a bitch.. Again."

He frowned "Again? I've never known you to be one. So spill."

"Zak and a pellet gun.. Plus Bacon at a far distance."

"He was shooting at him.."

"Hmm." I answered avoiding the need to look for Zak who had disappeared.

"Look we play pranks on the road and sometimes they can get out of hand. But you were only saying how you felt."

I looked at Aaron like he was a saviour, finally someone understood!

"Our work is dark, as dangerous as it is..  Zak wouldn't have done it to cause severe pain, maybe a tickle or a bruise. He's not a brute."

"He said something nasty and I replied with something worse.." I mumbled.

"Then go say sorry." Aaron shrugged.

"I don't think he wants to speak to me right now.."

I was spun around and pushed away from Aaron "Won't know until you try."

I whined quietly as I walked away from Aaron and towards Zak who was with Billy looking at a piece of paper.

"Hey Kaylee, how are you?" Billy asked giving me a refreshing smile.

"Great thanks yourself?"

"I'm good. I'll leave you both to it whilst I grab the drone.." He smiled jogging away. I turned to Zak who had suddenly found a keen interest in the piece of paper in his hand.

"You gonna talk to me..-"

"I'm not talking about this now. I'm working." He bit.

I stepped back and lowered my head "I-.." Not finding the words to say or even explain I simply looked at him as Zak looked up. Chewing my lip I walked away quickly and went to get the shots I wanted and the shots they needed.

Wanting a distant shot from the hotel I looked around for a place to take it, my eyes landed on a set of train lines.

"Look before you cross shorty." Aaron spoke passing by. I gave him a quick smile before checking and crossing the road.

"Hey! Kay!"

I turned to see Billy carrying the drone in his hand along with the controls "You wanna help me do this?" He asked. Giving him a grateful smile I nodded and crossed over another set of lines before reaching the other side of the road.

"You think these train lines cause activity?" I asked him as he synchronized the drone before flying it.

"Maybe, these are conductors of energy so the spirits in the hotel could well easily be feeding from it." He replied as all the lights on the drone turned green. "There we go. Right.." He began looking around in the air before beckoning me to walk with him.
