The High Life. The final stretch

Chapter 34

Wednesday, mine and Connor anniversary which brought Connor with it. He arrived just after lunch time.
"Hey babe." Con said Matt had picked Con up from the train station

"Hey babe." I said as he walked into my dressing room

"Hello." Connor said he came and wrapped his arms around my neck and kissed my cheek.

"Happy anniversary." I said turning around in my chair to look at him

"You as well." Con said

"Present." I said handing him a bag that had been on my dressing room table all morning waiting for him to arrive.

"Aw thanks babe." He said sitting on the side of my chair and picking up the bag. I'd brought him a new watch that had a picture of all 6 kids as the face and around the face was the date '13th March 2020' our anniversary date.

"Aw babe thank you. I love it." Con said putting it

"Glad you like it." I smiled I'd also got him a box of chocolates and a card.

"Here's your present." He said handing me a bag. Inside the bag was a box I took the box out and opened it. Inside was a mental charm that had a foot on it. A foot I guesses was Evie's.

"It goes with the necklace I brought you before you did I'm a celebrity." Con said

"I love it." I said taking the necklace from around my neck, I always wear it so that when I'm away the kids are always with me. I put Evie's foot on the necklace then put the necklace back on. Also in the bag was a card and another box I looked at Connor.

"Just a little something." He said

I opened the second box and inside was my wedding ring but that can't be right, I was wearing my wedding ring I looked at Connor confused.

"It's your wedding ring only I've added something to it." And sure enough when I looked at the ring it had out anniversary date on the inside.

"Thank you." I said taking my ring off and putting it in the box and putting the new one on. I kissed Connor

"Together we enjoyed half an hour before I had to go back to work

That night I didn't finish that late so me and Connor went out for dinner

"You ready for babe." Connor said knocking on the bathroom door

"Yeah." I said opening the door and walking out

"You look lovely." Con said

"Thanks." I said smiling

Together we headed out and to a restaurants that was just down the road from the hotel.

"Table for 2." Connor said

"Right this way sir." The waiter said

"Thanks you." Connor said

"Will this table be okay?" The waiter said

"Yeah it'll be great thank you." I said smiling

"Very well I'll leave you to decide what you want." The waiter said

"Thank you." I said the waiter walked off

"He was nice." Con said as we took our seats

"Yeah." I said smiling

It was a truly wonderful meal. It had been so long since me and Connor had been out together just the 2 of us. When we were finished we took a lovely walk along the river bank that ran through the centre of Cardiff.
