The High Life. The final stretch

Chapter 50

At 5 o'clock Lazer light went on to do their set.

"That was great guys." Connor said as they came off stage and the stage crew got ready for the 5sos boys.

"Thanks. Not to bad." Elliot said

"It was great." Tristan said

"You think?" Matt said

"Yeah. You've never played to a crowd this big so for your first time it was great." James said

"Thanks." Calum said

"Rhi can you give me a hand." Tristan said he was trying to get his in ear pack down his back.

"Yeah come here." I said moving towards him. I was down by the side of the stage making sure that every went smoothly. Jodie was the only one not involved with everything so was looking after the kids in the stands. Charlotte was stage manager Edward was meant to have taken over from her and he had but for this such a big set of concerts it needed someone who knew what they were doing. Charlotte had pulled me it to be supervisor so I make sure everything is running okay and on time. Edward was just under Charlotte as stage crew, Josh has taken over the security team and now has about 20 people working under him.

I sorted Tristan's in ears out then went to make sure the 5sos boys were ready. It was 5:25.

"You lads ready?" I said

"Yeah." Ash said

"Good. Breath in." I said Ash looked a little pale

"Yeah." He said

"It's going to be fine Ash." Luke said

What a show it was. The 5sos boys were amazing and so were the Vamps boys. They all did so well, I was very proud of them.

"Well done boys. You just need to do as well again tomorrow as you did tonight." I said we were all back stage it was just 10:30 and we were all sat in the massive dressing room talking. Evie, Grace, Blake and the twins have all fallen asleep in various people's arms.

"Yeah it wasn't too bad." Ash said

"Ash are you still worrying." I said

"Yep." He said

"Stop stressing Ash." I said going over to him and sitting on his lap

"I always worry." He said putting his arms around my waist

"Well stop Ash. Tonight was great." Luke said

"Think Rhi it might be time to head home." Connor said looking at his watch he had a fast asleep Evie in his arms

"Think that's a good idea." I said I hugged Ash and got up off his lap.

We all headed home for some sleep.

As the next couple of days went by Ash's nerves got better. But he was the only one that was nervous about the whole thing. With his wedding coming up soon Brad was becoming more and more paranoid that things were going to go wrong or mess up. It got so bad that while we were in Manchester (16th July) the night before the show I found him at half 11 walking along the river. James had said that Brad had gone for a walk and looked rather worried.

"Brad?" I said catching up to him

"oh Rhianne it's you." He said he was sat on a bench that over looks the river

"What's the matter Brad?" I said going to sit next to him

"Can I ask you a question Rhianne?" He said not looking at me

"Yeah course." I said

"What's it like being married?" Brad asked

"Nearly 20 years Brad and I still don't know the answer to that question." I said smiling

"I'm worried Rhi." Brad said

"Worried about what?" I said

"What if when we get married Sid falls out of love with me." Brad said

"Brad can I tell you something." I said

"Yeah." He looked at me

"Nearly 20 years of marriage and not a day goes by when I don't think how lucky I am to have such a wonderful and caring man by my side." I said

"Yeah but you got married what feels like such a long time ago." Brad said

"Brad I love him just as much as I did when we first met maybe even more now." I said

"Would you change anything?" Brad said

"Not at all." I said

"You really think everything going to be okay?" Brad said looking at me

"It's going to be fine Brad don't worry." I said

"Thanks Rhianne." Brad said resting his head on my shoulder.

"Now I'm not sure about you but I think it might be about time we headed back to the hotel." I said looking at him

"Yeah you might be right." Brad said

"Good come on then." I said standing up.

"How is he?" Con asked sitting up in bed when I go back to my room half an hour later.

"He's fine. Just a bit stressed." I said

"Sure he's okay." Con said

"Yeah." I said

"Okay." Con said lying back down

The following morning Brad was a little more relaxed and chilled out.

"Okay?" I said

"Yeah I'm fine." He said smiling

"Good." I said

"Ready babe?" Sid said coming over

"Yeah." Brad said taking Sid hand and walking off with him

"It's going to be a lovely wedding." Edward said coming over to me

"Yeah it is." I said smiling

"Have you done your speech yet?" Charlotte asked

"nope you?" I said looking at her

"No. Jodie?" Me and Charlotte looked at her

"No." Jodie said

"You need to get them done. Brad with have a bad day if he finds out you haven't done them." Edward said

"Yeah thanks Edward." I said

"We do need to do it though guys." Charlotte said

"Tonight?" I said

"Yeah." Jodie said

"Fine with me." Charlotte said

"Good. We can sit in the Bar at the hotel and do it after the show." I said

"Fab. Have a couple of drinks maybe that will help us." Jodie said

"Sounds like a plan to me." I smiled

"We're going to need a couple of drinks after this wedding is over. Brad has been driving us mad about our speeches." James said appearing at my side.

"give him a break." Connor said

"Thats not what you were saying earlier." James said

"Come on. Just think how scared you were before you got married. He's so scared." Con said

"Yeah but the difference is I didn't drive you all mad about your speeches." James said

"Yes you did. 3-4 times a day you'd ask us if we'd done it." Connor said

"I did not." James said

"Yeah you did James." Jodie said

"Thanks for the support." James said

"But they have a point." Jodie said

"Thanks." James said rolling his eyes
