The High Life. The final stretch

Chapter 43

Rhianne's POV

Friday. Opening night.

Having spent the last 4 months preparing for this night, I'm really nervous. At 1:30 me, Lilly, Ben, Casper and the Vamps boys plus Ash, Luke, Charlotte and Josh and Edward are all at the record label setting up chairs and getting the proper stage up ready for tonight. Michael is looking after the other kids which is a great help.

"Rhianne the lights are not working......" Charlotte said

"What?" I said glaring at the her

"The lights won't turn on." Charlotte said

"Oh come on......not today." I said walking over to her

"Ashton!" I shouted

"Yeah." He said he was holding up one of the set pieces

"Please......Sort the lights out please. Edward please give him a hand." I said

"Yes Rhi." Ash said

"Course Rhi." Edward said

"Thanks guys. Charlotte come help me." I said

"Okay sweet." Charlotte said

At 4 the kids started to arrive. Show starts at half 6 but I want to have a run through of the whole show. Other than Me, Lilly and Ben the others carried on setting things up.

"Right guys come on. Full run through. If you mess something up carry on and keep going.... Don't stop. If you forget your lines I'm going to be sat in front of the stage ready to help...." I said

No-one said anything "Right let's go." I said

We got all the way through the show without much going wrong. We finished at just coming up to 6. I'd laid out some food for the kids so that they could have something to eat before the show.

As people started to arrive at the label the kids and I got ready.

"Right are we ready guys." I said at 25 past 6.

"Yeah." They all said

"Good right Harry, Sam, George and Ethan get in position and I'll go out the front." I said

I went out the front, everyone had taken their seats and was ready.

"Hello everyone. First of all, I want to thank everyone for coming. The kids over the last couple of months have put so much work and effort into getting this production together. As well I would like to thank my friends and family for putting up with me the last couple of months while I've been stressed. Now I think it's time we got the show under way." I said

We got through the whole show and nothing went wrong which I was relieved about. Now to just get tomorrow and Sunday over and done with.

"Well done everyone." I said as most people had left and it was just the parents of the kids left hanging around "You all did so well. I'm very proud of you all."

"Right go home. Have a good night's sleep and see you tomorrow." I smiled

They all left and the rest of us headed home and slept as well.

Saturdays show was just as good as Fridays show. Sunday came and I was looking forward to it all being over. We'd decided that as a gang the 24 of us would go to the US band house for Christmas.

"Are we all ready?" I said over the chatter of everyone before the last show

"Yeah." They all said

"Good." I smiled

"Ready Casper?" I said looking at him when I got out the front from back stage
"Yep." He said taking a seat in his director's chair that's next to mine

"Good." I smiled taking my own seat next to him.

The show just as good as the night before and Friday night.

When the curtains had been drawn across the stage Harry and Ethan appeared.

"Before you all leave and enjoy your evening we would like to say a massive thank you to one person that's managed to put on an amazing show and who has got all of us kids through this." I was still sat on my director's chair. "She's spent countless hours working with us to make the show perfect and has put in the time to work with us all separately so that we can put on the best show we can." Harry said

"She's become a friend to all of us and always finds a way to make us all feel included in everything. She's got a way of making us all laugh and keeping us going even when we don't feel like it." Ethan said Everyone was watching them now and the room the silent I'd gone a brilliant shade of red.

"Please everyone put your hands together for the master mind behind the show Rhianne Ball." Everyone started to clap. Charlotte, Michael, Jacob, Calum, Jodie, Ash, Luke, Jessie and Grace were watching tonight and sat at the back of the room making the most noise as I walked up onto stage and was presented the biggest bunch of flowers in the world by Lilly. I kissed her on the cheek and smiled as everyone clapped.

"I don't really know what to say. The hard work these kids have put in is incredible and amazing. They've worked so hard to get everything right and have made this experience so much better but I think next year I won't be doing a Christmas production and we might just put on a show. Make my life a lot easier." Everyone laughed "I would like to say thank you to my friends and family who have put up with me over the last couple of week as I've been very stressed about everything. All the kids have done an amazing job putting on just a wonderful show and remember everything they had to remember but most of all thank you to each of you in the room tonight you paid for the tickets so that I can keep this going for the kids. It's making a massive difference to the kids' lives. So thank you all so much. Finally have a safe trip home." I smiled

As people started to file out the room the kids helped tidy up and get things back too normal.

"Guys." I shouted over the noise the kids all stopped talking and looked at me "Right this is it until after Christmas so get some rest and have a good holiday." I smiled as the kids left with their parents me, Lilly, Ben, Casper and the others all sat on the floor of the drama room

"Well done Rhi." Charlotte said

"Yeah good job Rhi." Ash said

"The show was amazing." Calum said

"Yeah it was." Michael said

"You put so much work into it and it shows." Jodie said

"It was great mum." Jessie said

"Yeah really good mum." Grace said

"What's next years?" Ben said

We all laughed.
