The High Life. The final stretch

Chapter 68

As April started Jessie's 11th birthday and Grace's 8th was fast approaching and the pair of them both wanted to Lego land. So me and Con decided that as a joint birthday thing (their birthday's only 6 days apart) the weekend that separated their birthday we as a family would go to Lego land, just the 8 of us and Ben.

Jessie's Birthday Wednesday 19th April. 6:30 in the morning

"Morning Jessie." I was in the kitchen getting breakfast ready.

"Morning mum." He said coming over to give me a hug he was ready for school.

"You okay. Happy birthday." I said

"Yeah thanks mum." Jessie said

"Good. Wait till everyone is up and you can do the presents. Charlotte's going to bring Jacob round a bit later just before your other friends get here." I said Jessie was having some friends over for dinner.

"Okay." Jessie said getting cup from the cupboard and putting them on the table ready for breakfast. then he went into the living to play with Evie who was sat on the floor again ready some book

"Jessie read." I heard her say.
"of course." Came his voice.

The pair of them sat reading stories until Casper, Blake, Grace and Lilly all came down 30 minutes later all dressed. I went into the living room and Jessie and Evie were sat up against the sofa reading James and the giant peach (My favourite book as a kid) a big pile of book next to them.

"Jess?" I said

"Yeah?" He looked at me

"Breakfast. Everyone is down now." I said

"Okay." Jessie said

He finished the chapter he was reading to Evie then they both came to sit at the table for pancakes and smoothie.

"Everyone had enough?" I said looking round at everyone

"Yeah thanks mum." Lilly said smiling

"Yeah. That was great mum." Casper and Blake said

"Wonderful thanks mum." Jessie said

"Banana." Evie said pointing at the banana that was in the fruit bowl on the table.

"Do you want the banana Evie?" I said

"Yeah pease." She said reaching out for it.

I gave her the banana and while she was eating it Jessie opened his present's.

From me and Connor he got a phone ready for when he goes up to high school in September, Lilly had got him an awesome book called 'how to survive high school the easy way', Casper and Blake had brought him (Me and Con brought it) and Laptop bag for his Laptop when he takes it to school and finally Grace and Evie had got him some new DVDs, Pirates of the Caribbean 6 (I remember when the first one came out but the 6th one has only in the recent months just come out. the 4th came out when I was 21 and the 5th out when I was nearly 30 so it's not a surprise that the 6th one has only just come out and sadly unlike the first 4 this one doesn't have Johnny Depp in it) also Grace and Evie got him a new x-box game, the boys have had an x-box for a while now and it's in the tree house in the garden that Connor built a few years ago it's bigger now and looks like a mini house that the kids can escape to and get away from life inside the main house. All in all, Jessie got a good range of presents. But he still had the present from Jacob and his friends to come a bit later on. Connor took the other to school and me, Lilly and Evie were left behind

As I start to tidy up and get ready for later on Lilly comes in and asks if I need her to take Evie to the park for an hour or so.

"Yes please Lilly sweet that will help me out so much." I said
