The High Life. The final stretch

Chapter 37

Connor's POV

After agreeing to perform on the live final of Britain's got talent in just under a week. We had a lot to do. Rehearsals started straight away, it took us a whole day to decide what songs we were going to sing. Late on Monday night the kids had joined us at the record label so that I could carry on with rehearsals as Rhianne was doing the live semi-finals which the kids were sat watching. We were still arguing about what 2 songs to do.

"Why don't you just put all the songs you guys want to do in a hat the pull out 2." Lilly said she had been sat in the rehearsal room with us for the last hour, Evie on her lap asleep watching us rehearse.

"That's a good idea." James said

"Yeah it is." I said

"Shall we then?" Brad said and together we wrote down 2 songs each that we wanted to do and put the bits of paper in Lilly's hat then got her to take 2 out.

"Can we dance from your first album and I found a girl from your second album." Lilly said reading the bits of paper out.

"Great." Trist said

"Shall we get on and rehearse then." I said

"Yep." James said and that was it we were off rehearsing Rhianne arrived at just gone half 12 at night the kids had fallen asleep on the floor of the rehearsal room.

"Hey babe." I said when Rhianne walked into the rehearsal room

"Hey." She said

"Right think home time lads." I said

"Yeah." The other said

Together with the boys help we got the kids in the car without them waking up.

We got home, got the kids in bed then went to bed ourselves.

Next morning Rhianne was up with the kids. She was taking them to school then heading over to Elstree for the second semi-final. Charlotte had kindly agreed to look after Evie for the day for me so that me and the boys could get on with rehearsing.

"This girl moved into my apartment (One day). One look at her my heart was stopping (Heartbreak). I did whatever she was asking. She said "maybe later catch you in the elevator". A couple days we got to hanging (Real close). Turns out she wasn't even taken (No no). I made a move she said "baby you're mistaken, I'm not into bacon" Brad sang but messed it up and stopped

"This is stupid." I said

"Come on we have to keep going." James said

We started the song again and this time got most of the way through it without massing it up.

"Getting there." I said when we finished it with only one major mistake

"Yeah. Shall we have some lunch?" James said It was coming up to 1 o'clock

"Yeah." The other said I went up to Rhianne and Charlotte's office where I found Charlotte and Evie sat on the floor eating lunch

"Hey." I said walking into the office.

"Da." Evie said she had just started crawling, she crawled to the door for me to pick her up

"Hey pumpkin." I said picking her up she smiled

"Thanks Charlotte." I said

"Any time." She said grinning

"Want me to have her this afternoon?" Charlotte asked

"Umm. Evie might sleep after lunch so might have her with me. If it gets to much I might bring her back up. You in all day?" I asked

"Yeah pretty much. Want me to go get the kids? Lilly, Casper and Jessie all want to go watch tonight live show. Rhianne got us tickets so I was going to take them. If that's okay with you. Ash said he would watch Grace, Blake and Evie if you wanted him to." Charlotte said

"Thanks so much Charlotte that would be such a great help. I also have a ticket. We're nowhere near ready for Saturday." I said

"No problem." Charlotte said

"Come on little one." I said taking Evie down to the ground floor and to the canteen. Lilly was due to start working in the canteen this weekend now that it was finished.

"Evie." The other boys said she just waved at them

"Come here little one." James said taking Evie from me so that I could go and get something to eat.

I came back to the table 5 minutes later with food.

"Hungry Evie?" I said

"No." She said

"Very well." I said

"Bet she's just tired Con." James said

"Yeah." I said

When we had finished eating we went back upstairs I got Evie off to sleep then we carried on rehearsing.

At half 2 Charlotte came up to get Evie so that she could take her to get the kids from school. Evie had been sat in her travel cot for the last hour playing with her toys while we rehearsed.

"Thanks Charlotte. I'll meet you at Elstree." I said

"Okay." Charlotte said and she left.

"You going tonight?" James said

"Yeah. I said I would." I said

"What about rehearsals?" Tristan said

"1 flipping night. Tonight is an early show so I should be home by 9 so I can come back here." I said

"Nah don't worry let's have tonight off." Brad said

"Yeah."

At 6 I left the record label and headed to Elstree studios to watch the second semi-final.

Watching the semi-final was great all the acts were great. Watching Rhianne was nice as well over the past couple of weeks I felt like I haven't seen much of her. She's been so busy and so have I. Think maybe this summer a family holiday to Disney might be in order, all the kids have been asking to go again.

The show finished at just gone half 8. I thought that sticking around for Rhianne might not be a bad idea.

"Ready for home babe."  I said when Rhianne came out from back stage at just gone quarter past 9.

"Yes please." She said giving me a hug

"You coming for drinks?" George had just appeared

"Not tonight George. I'm going home." Rhi said

"Okay. See you tomorrow." George said

"Have a good night." Rhi said

We all headed home all of us were shattered. Ash had got Grace, Blake and Evie into bed so by the time we got back we only had Lilly, Casper and Jessie to get into bed and they could get themselves into bed. When the kids were in bed me and Rhi went to bed.
