The High Life. The final stretch

Chapter 1

Over the next couple of weeks Michael had interview after interview. I think by the time that the Christmas holidays started and the kids were off school he was glad for the break and the time off.

Everyone was doing their own thing for Christmas. Charlotte, Jacob and Michael were going to see Michael's parents in Oz. Jodie, James and Ben were going the James's parents. Sid and Brad were going skiing with Brad's family. Tristan was going to see his sister. Luke and Calum were going to see their families the only ones sticking around London were me, Con and the kids and Ash. Louie was going home and Josh was going home as well Edward was sticking around but was going to mum for new year.

"Come to us Edward." I said we were at the record label finishing some bits off for a new song for one of the bands signed to the label.

"Might do." Edward said

"Yeah come to us. chilling out all day, eating far too much food, watching movies all day. Haven." I said smiling

"Sounds good to me." Edward said

"Yeah." I said smiling

Con had the kids at home. Everyone else had gone where ever they were going already. I didn't mind being at the label when they weren't there I know what I was doing. Most of the time.

Me and Edward finished what we were doing then headed to the super market to pick up something I had ordered for Lilly for Christmas. She had been going on and on about having a new bike and me and Connor had given in and had brought her one. It was bright purple. She wanted it mainly to be able to ride to school on it in the morning which was fine, school was on about 3 miles from our house and it meant that she could take herself to school every day. Not that she didn't now, most of the time she walked with Ben because they go to the same school but Ben's in the year above Lilly. The pair of them are as thick as thieves it's very rare to see one without the other. They always walk home together. They even wait for each other after school and hang around with each other at school which is great to see and for them to have each other and be able to trust each other so much.

Charlotte had given me a spare key to hers so that I could store some of our Christmas presents at hers so that the kids didn't find them at home. So I left the bike at Charlotte then me and Edward went home.

"okay babe." I said kissing Connor

"Yeah fine thanks you? Good day at the office?" Con said

"Yeah got loads done. George popped in to talk about Britain's got talent next year." I said

"When does filming start?" Con asked

"March." I said

"Oh." Con said

"Yeah. I'm rather looking forward to it and it also means that I'll be in London for the live shows so I won't be away from you and the kids." I said

"that's a bonus." Con said

"Yeah. I'm rather looking forward to it." I said making a cup of tea.

"It should be interesting." Con said

"Yeah it should." I smiled

"Mum I can't find my laptop." Lilly said

"It was in the office last time I saw it sweet." I said

"Okay." She said walking out of the kitchen and going in to the office.

"What's it doing in there?" Con said looking at me

"She was working on her music homework yesterday while you were at the label. She's got to record different instruments and put them together as a song." I said
