You've hated the same person for nineteen years. He's the same person you have been forced to spend christmas, birthdays and summer vacation together for as long as you can remember and it was not a pretty memory. Up until now, you wince every time you pass by the pictures of you and Hoseok that decorated the walls of the hallway.
From those pictures, there were a few that are unforgettable, your eyes begin to burn with rage and loath every time you are reminded of those dark times. The hatred between you and Hoseok started when you were very young, it was just a little spark then but eventually grew into a huge fire that burned every good memory you had of him.
You cannot ever forget that time when you were six, he minced live earthworms and mixed it in your food, when he used to push you off the bed during your afternoon naps, when he farted in your face while you were sleeping, when you were ten and he spilled orange juice on your crotch and said you had accident. Hoseok did all those things just to annoy you. There wasn't a single day that you didn't want to suffocate him in his sleep or push him off a cliff.
But this past year, he's been unusually quiet. You haven't seen him during summer vacation too. His parents said he had private lessons because apparently his school marks are going downhill faster than his girlfriend's underwear when they make out.
You were thankful for that wonderful summer without Hoseok, however, now you have to face him again. You hated your parents for being such good friends with each other. You hated them for making you and Hoseok like each other when all you want to do was pull at each other's leg.
"Y/N, come down, Hoseok's here." Your mother called you from downstairs. You took a deep breath before you open the door slightly, peeking through at first. You scanned the living room and your eyes met with the most annoying smirk in the planet.
Damn it. You were wishing he'd be too sick to come over and spend summer vacation this year but he was very alive and very healthy.
"Y/N, hurry up and come down here." Your mother repeated in a slightly irritated tone, she seemed like she's about to blow off so you obeyed quickly. Taking a step out of your room but walking very slowly, making sure you took up ten seconds between with each step.
A lot has changed since you last saw each other. Definitely, there was some changes you noticed in him as the years passed. Now that you're past the awkward teen years of your life, it's time to move alone into another stressful life event; being an adult but you're not ready to be one.
"How are you, Y/N?" Hoseok smiled sweetly at you as he gave you a friendly hug then he whispered, "I'm not really curious." He pulled away and smiled wider.
You smiled back, holding onto a thin line of patience. If it weren't for your mother standing in the same room, you would've pulled out a knife and butchered his unexpectedly fine ass.
"I was doing fine until you came." You faked another smile, passing by him and following your mom into the kitchen where she will give you instructions.
"Sweetie, help Hoseok to his room and tell him dinner will be at six." She said, stuffing the poor chicken with all kinds of herbs. "And please, try to be nicer to him."
Your mouth dropped, "Mom! I do try to be nice but it's him who's making my life a living hell."
"Now, Y/N. That's not a nice thing to say to your best friend." She gave you a look and you sighed.
"We're not best friends. We're not even friends." You crossed your arms. "Just because you and his mom are best friends doesn't mean we have to be best friends too."
