JUST ONE DAY REQUEST
Another sigh left Namjoon's lips when he saw your new picture on Facebook. His finger hovered over the annoying thumbs up icon on his phone's screen and before he knew it, he had pressed the like button on your picture.
"Why does she look prettier after we broke up?" He asked himself. "And what the hell am I doing? I'm not supposed to be liking her pictures!"
That was the truth but he kept on asking himself, is it really over?, whenever he sees your new picture. Namjoon couldn't help but back track to his memories with you. Those happy memories when you were his. He wanted to get you back but how? He messed up big time.
Why isn't there a dislike button for love? He questioned himself. If there was, would he be able to move on? His phone chimed again, another facebook notification came. Some guy liked your picture and added a comment:
Wow, you're just so pretty.. Wanna hang out some time?
Namjoon bitterly laughed, "Hangout sometime? Bullshit. " He pressed the home button and threw his phone on his bed.
He stared back at it before picking it up again to take a look at your picture, his finger almost touching the friend request button but he didn't let himself succumb to his weakness. With a groan, he fell face first on his pillow.
The weather's so nice outside but he's at home, stalking his ex girlfriend's facebook posts. Namjoon called up his friend and asked to meet up so he'd have some distractions. He was dressed fashionably, keeping it monochrome. A black beanie over his bleached blonde hair, plain white button up shirt and black pants.
It was spring, reminding him that it's almost a year after you broke up. His phone vibrated in his pocket but he ignored it. Namjoon told himself that you already moved on and he should too but then he found himself sitting on the same spot where you used to talk and laugh together. But this time, you were not beside him.
He was alone.
"It doesn't matter. I'm not trying to hold on. It just so happens that I really like their coffee here. Yeah. That's it." He drank his coffee, legs crossed as he waited for his friend.
"Hey, man! What's up?" Hoseok called out to Namjoon when he spotted him.
"I'm good. I'm good." Namjoon stood up to greet Hoseok, fist bumping each other before taking their seats. "How long has it been huh? Since we last had a drink together."
"Hoseok!"
Namjoon almost choked on his cup of coffee when he saw you approaching their table. Your dress was quite thin and Namjoon noticed it right away. He wanted to scold you for wearing such a thin dress in this weather but who was he to do that? He's not your boyfriend anymore. Namjoon realized that he can't keep on obsessing over you.
"Y/N, hey, you look nice." Hoseok stood up to greet you.
Namjoon met your eyes and acted cool by giving you a nod. Then something caught his sharp eyes, you were with a guy. Was he that guy on Facebook? Namjoon's mind went crazy at the sight of you with another man.
Curses filled his mind as he watched the guy whisper thigs in your ear.
Namjoon stopped wasting his time eavesdropping on your conversation and instead began to talk about music producing with Hoseok.
"That's cool. We could totally do that!" Hoseok exclaimed, "but maybe next time? Something came up and I need to meet someone. How about we talk about it over the phone?"
"Yeah, sure. I need to go anyway." Namjoon replied and they both left the coffee shop.
The weather suddenly turned sour, the blue skies turned dark and the heavy rain clouds appeared. Namjoon's steps became faster until they bacame long strides then he started to run when the first raindrops fell. He looked around and found shelter at small gazebo in a park he was passing by. He dusted his clothes off, they were slightly wet from the heavy rain drops.
He felt another presence beside him, a woman, she was probably also looking for shelter from the heavy rain, just like him. His eyes widened momentarily when he saw you. Namjoon immediately turned his cheek away from you, pretending that he didn't see you but he knew that doing that was pure stupidity.
You stood only inches away from him. Namjoon minimized the glances he stole from you, controlling the urge to stare at you.
"Going home?" You started, lifting the awkward atmosphere around the two of you.
"Uh, yeah." Was Namjoon's immediate answer. Silence once again built its invisible wall between the two of you.
"I didn't expect to see you back there.." Namjoon added, wanting to hear your voice more.
"Yeah, me too." You replied. "I like what you did with your hair. The color suits you."
Namjoon looked at you, "Thanks. I like your dress."
You laughed at his lame comment, "Liar. I would've believed you if I didn't know you better."
"Okay. That was lie. You caught me." Unconsciously, Namjoon smiled at you. He felt so happy to be talking with you again. "I don't like the dress but I don't hate it on you."
"I went on a date." You didn't know why you said that. It just seem right to let him know that you're trying to move on and if that was okay with him.
"Oh really. Cool." Namjoon replied in a chic manner.
You studied his face, every detail. You want to run your fingers through his dyed hair so bad, to grip on his shoulders and feel the muscles underneath his clothes. You missed him but you don't want to tell him that. You don't want to be the pathetic loser who couldn't move on.
"What?" Namjoon turned his face to you, his eyes looking at you again. You felt electricity run through your core. You loved the way he looked at you.
"Oh.. uh you have a stain on your shirt.." You just made the lamest excuse ever but there was actually a stain on his right collar, it was miniature but you're glad it was there to save your butt.
"Damn it." He mumbled. You found him very attractive when he curses in that husky voice of his.
"Here, let me." You giggled, taking out a handkerchief. You stretched your hand out in the rain and wet a small part of your handkerchief before turning to Namjoon.
Shit.
Namjoon thought as he felt your body on his. Months of sexual frustration threatening him to do something idiotic. You looked so cute as you try so hard in rubbing on the stain, your eyebrows knitting together. Namjoon missed the sound of your voice, the way you smile at the simplest things, your weird laugh, how your slim, fragile hands felt intertwined with his, the scent of your shampoo, the way your face lit up when he brings you your favorite flowers. All of the things that you are flooded his mind and that one tiny portion you occupied in his brain grew thrice as big. You were all over his thoughts. He began to wonder how it ended between the two of you. He couldn't remember anything except the good memories.
"Why did we break up?" Namjoon wondered as he watched you.
You look up at him, staring in his eyes, "Because all we did was argue and shout at each other. We both wanted different things. You wanted your career and I wanted a relationship."
"I'm sorry." Namjoon wrapped his arms around you, embracing you, "It's probably too late to say this now but, I want you back."
You send a brief smile in his direction then you looked away to watch the dark grey clouds, "Actually my date didn't work out.. I guess I'm not ready to move on yet. I still think of you."
Namjoon's head snapped up. He stared at your face, seeing you up close and personal was 100 times better than the pictures he liked on Facebook. You were much more beautiful like this.
"I don't think I'll ever be ready to move on." He wrapped his hands around your cold ones, and you smiled as he filled in the space between your fingers.
