"Why?"

You stormed into his study as soon as you arrived home, still wearing your uniform and unfazed by the few pairs of eyes that fell on you. "Why did you dismiss her? Why do you want to take everything away from me??"

"Y/N." Was the first word your father spoke to you in the same stern, cold voice. Ever since your mother passed away and he was elected as the President, he stopped being your father. He was just a man who looks after you because he is obligated to. Because you have his flesh and blood.

"I have important guests. We will talk later." He continued and you moved your gaze to his cabinet members, some lowering their gazes and some clearly expressing their dissatisfaction in your uncalled behavior.

"Because I'm not important?" You laughed in disbelief.

Finally, you had the guts to say it to his face. The words you've been wanting to ask him. He didn't look pleased but that wasn't a surprise to you anymore. You did everything to please him and gain his attention but he never returned the same effort you put in. So you just stopped caring altogether. He wouldn't notice anyway.

"Why did you fire her? She wasn't just my bodyguard. She was my friend. My only friend. But you wouldn't know that, would you?" You continued argue with him in front of his so called important guests just to spite him. "Why do you always have to make me feel miserable? Is locking me up here not enough for you? And you call yourself my father? Pretending like everything you do is only because you want what's best for me. Bullshit!"

"That's enough from you!" His voice thundered. He stood up, angered and completely lost his patience. "I didn't fire her. She resigned on her own will. Everyone has their own circumstances to face, Y/N. You must under that the world doesn't revolve around you."

Caught off guard by the sudden information, you stood there flustered for a moment. You couldn't believe she chose to leave you despite everything that you've been through together. You opened yourself up to her and she promised to stay by your side through everything but now she just left without any explanation. You didn't know how you can trust someone anymore because you always end up being hurt and left behind every time you put yourself out there.

Why? Are you that unbearable? Despicable to look at?

While in a state of shock, your father motioned to his guards to take you out and into your room. They followed his orders and, in an instant, stood on both of your side. One of them held your arm but you shrugged him off as you sent a glare to your father. "I can show myself out."

You didn't utter a word during breakfast. The maids poured some water on your glass and you thanked her like how you usually does. Eating breakfast alone was something you got used to already. For a short time, when you met Ryuji, you were somewhat happy and actually looked forward to waking up every morning. Now, even she, was gone and you're back to solitude. Just by yourself.

After breakfast, your schedule would go on. The whole morning is for personal classes with a private teacher and, in the afternoon, there was reading and Oboe lessons. You don't even look forward to dinner anymore because you already know you'll still be by yourself. The maids don't talk to you. For some reason, they weren't allowed to. But this evening, it seemed like some sort of miracle happened. Your father is already sitting on his seat at the dining table when you entered the room.
