You sat in a cafe, the one in front of an old heritage building, alone with your drawing materials. Today, you planned that you will draw anything you like because you needed inspiration. You were so sick of drawing to get good grades. It just felt relaxing to draw whatever you like or something out of the blue for a change instead of drawing for deadlines. Today is a nice day for that, you thought as you cradled your sketch book on your lap, a cup of your favorite frappe on the table. It was peaceful aside from the usual bustling by the counter and the people that come and go. Nobody disturb you until your phone rang which broke the thread of your inspiration, sending you spiraling back into reality.
You knew who it was. Everyday he has been calling you and bugging you nonstop. You completely forgot how he can be so persistent if he wants something. Choosing to ignore him is useless. You realized that after awhile and finally, you grabbed your phone.
You answered on the sixth ring, "No."
"I haven't even asked you anything." Taehyung said on the other line and you rolled your eyes, losing count on how many times you did it whenever you talk to him about the favor he asked from you the last time.
"I already know what you're going to ask." You told him bluntly and repeated, "No."
"I didn't call because of that. I'm just, you know, checking if you're still that friend of mine whose clothes are mostly for funerals." Taehyung never sweet talks around you and you've gotten so used to it that you think this is his best compliment of you.
"I like black." You smiled. He knew that but you told him anyway. "Makes me feel less miserable, you know."
"I know. You like funerals." He replied, you noticed that there was a lot happening on his side of the call. "Anyway, where are you?"
You were about to reply and tell him where you are but you stopped yourself because if you told him, he'll definitely come. Your day will be ruined without a doubt. That was the con but you thought it wouldn't be that bad since you will get to see him - the pro.
Just then, you saw someone from outside who matched Taehyung's physique. He had that same handsome tanned complexion and his posture along with that face of his made him look like someone right out of a comic book. Those deep brown eyes that you could stare into all day and his lips. Oh, those prettily shaped lips. Someone like him shouldn't even be existing in the same world as you. The worst part is, he's not even trying. He's just born that way. It's unfair. The world is unfair for giving you Kim Taehyung as your best friend.
You almost thought it was him by the exact same way he walked but then your eyes came upon the gloomy, dark hoodie he wore. The Taehyung you know wouldn't dress like that, considering that his reason for wearing clothes is far more complicated than your own.
But you were wrong. Dead wrong.
