It has been centuries since humans and vampires began to live harmoniously along side each other. It seemed peaceful enough in the eyes of anyone, however, inside the hearts of every person, there was deep rooted fear and unspoken hate for the opposite race.
Driven to a corner, the Council, as they called themselves, came up with a resolution to ensure that the treaty between vampires and human would be upheld through the centuries. Whether it be in a different time or under a different ruler, the treaty must not be broken and the answer to that was a strong bond to connect the two races together and create peace.
Marriage.
At the young age of ten, you were chosen to be the Prince's bride. You had not known any better that time, however, as you blossom more into a lady, you understood your important duty as a peacemaker. Your parents have honed you to become the Prince's half and so, you were trained to become a royalty at such a young age. Speaking and behaving in a royally accepted manner has become your daily homework. Expectations came at you from each side. Almost everyone was ready to claw at you for any mistake you make in public because they wanted a war between humans and vampire and the only way to wage a war is to nullify the treaty.
When the wedding ended, the pressure on you heightened. You wonder how much more of the pressure the Prince was carrying on his shoulder. From the moment, you were officially announced as his bride until today, you have only seen the Prince in a few intimate family meetings. You were never alone with him. The very first time you met as emancipated adults, he seemed too unreal. He's the closest anyone could come to perfection. As a vampire, you highly expected his genetic make up to be exceptional but his down to earth disposition, the way he always looked so composed and graceful makes him a paradox to you.
Isn't it in his nature, as a vampire, to hate humans? Well, not entirely hate, but have a bit of both love and hate since they prey on human blood. You couldn't decipher how he is as a person. He had been nothing but a gentleman to anyone he meets. You've never heard of news about him mistreating his subjects nor did he display any violent acts in public. The man was never one to hold a grudge. He's too kind and you saw that as his fatal vulnerability.
