Left Behind

We Were Worried

The Next Morning-

Jessica woke up in Jason's arms. He was sound asleep, Jessica woke up early. Her mind was spinning. She was angry, confused, and lost. She always wanted to go to Europe, but not with Jason. But, it was an opportunity she may never get again.

Jessica got out of bed and quietly changed into her clothes.

Once she was done she looked over at Jason who slept peacefully. She walked over to him and kissed his forehead then headed for the door.

Jessica took a taxi to get coffee then go home. When she got to the apartment everyone was in Jessica's apartment. Ann, the kids, Sarah, and Sam sat in the living room on their phones. Ann was crying, they all looked so nervous.

Jessica swing the door open and they all looked at her and let out a breath of relief.

Jessica's hair was tangled up, her dress was halfway zipped, and her stockings were ripped.

"Jessica, where the hell have you been?" Sarah says running up and giving her a hug.

Jessica didn't hug back. She just stood there and kept her eyes on Sam who stood there awkwardly.

"Aunt Jess, we thought you died." Paige says with watery eyes.

"I'm okay..." Jessica reassures Paige with her eyes still on Sam.

"Did you lose your phone or something?" Ann says to Jessica walking over to her.

Jessica looks in her purse and pulls out her phone.

"It's dead."

"I'm so happy you are okay! Ann called and said you never came home."

Jessica nodded and set purse down. She headed back towards the door and opened it.

"Go" she says looking at Sam.

Sam puts his head down and grabs his keys.

"Jessica-"

"Get out"

"Okay..." Sam walks past Jessica and leaves. When he stands at the door way he looks at Jessica desperately. Jessica slammed the door in his face then turned around.

"Sorry for scaring all of you." Jessica says softly.

The room became quite and awkward.

"Well, aunt jessie isn't dead." Quinn says sitting down on the couch.

"Quinn!" Ann says rolling her eyes.

"She was gone for like twelve hours and didn't call." Quinn snaps

"I was with someone, I was fine. I'm fine." Jessica says in a shaky tone. She held back the tears and turned around.

"Sam told us everything... Maybe Mark will change his mind." Sarah says following Jessica

"Maybe he won't! If he told you everything, why would you bring him here? Do you think I want to see him?" Jessica raises her voice and takes a deep breath.

"Jessica, you need to calm down." Ann says

Ann motions the kids to go in the other room, and they do.

"Calm down? My job is in jeopardy because of that asshole! I go out to have alone time and relax and find pleasure and everyone acts like I went missing. I'm fine, I'm a grown women."

"Okay, okay... We won't worry anymore." Sarah grunts

"You're being a bitch." Ann glares at Jessica and crosses her arms.

"A bitch? Haha! Funny Ann, really funny." Jessica says sarcastically

"I'm being serious. You scared all of us. All you had to do was call and let us know that you were okay. We worry about you."

"I'm not used to being worried about. That's why I moved away from home. For the freedom. Ann, I get you care, and I'm sorry for scaring you. But this is my life. And sometimes I just need to get away."

"What do you mean by get away?"

"I'm thinking of going out of town for a while."

Ann was taken back. She takes a few steps and sits down on the chair. She runs her hands through her hair and sighs.

"Where do you plan to go? You're devoted to work." Sarah says

"Europe, I'm going to Europe."

"Are you crazy!" Sarah says

"I have nothing to lose."

"Yea you do hun, your job!" Sarah snaps

"Who are you going to Europe with?" Ann ask

Jessica was quite for a moment.

"Jason."

Sarah slapped her forehead and looked at Jessica, irritated.

"Are you dumb? I think you are. Are you high?" Sarah starts to freak out pacing around the room.

"Who's Jason?" Ann lifts her head up.

"Jessica's low-life cheating ex." Sarah shakes her head.

"Cool it Sarah. He messed up, don't we all mess up?"

"Jessica! Come on!" Sarah says dramatically

"Leave me alone, can't I do what I want!" Jessica yells

Ann shakes her head and says things under her breath.

"I get that I'm a bitch Ann. Yea, because I show up to peoples houses unexpectedly."

"You know what. I think the kids and I are going to go home. I think it's time that we leave you and your sad sappy life." Ann stands up

"Whoa, hey you two come on." Sarah says stopping Ann.

"Fine, go! Me and my 'sad sappy life' will be just fine."

"Good, make sure you fuck yourself."
