Family Gathering

Jessica and Danny landed in Minnesota and drove up to their hometown. It was late, so they wouldn't see their moms until the next day. They got a hotel not far from their families homes.

The next morning Jessica and Danny got dressed and were heading out for lunch. By this time they were both so nervous that it was a bit hard to even speak. Their mothers were unpredictable. Everything was a mystery.

"You look beautiful." Danny says spinning Jessica around. She wore a summer dress and wedges.

Jessica cups his cheeks and kisses his lips. "Thank you."

"Are you ready?" He says slipping on his gold ring

"I think I am. Maybe... I don't know..." She chuckles

"We will be fine. It will be fine. We are treating our moms to a nice lunch with some good news. They'll be happy."

Before Danny and Jessica leave he gets a phone call. He steps outside of their room for a moment and Jessica finishes getting ready.

Moments later Danny comes running back inside.

"Jessica! Jessica!" He says frantically

"Yes baby?" She says

Danny picks Jessica up and spins her around the room smiling.

"You and I have a set wedding date at city hall in Duluth. Next Saturday at one! Everything is ready baby!"

Jessica starts to tear up. "Really?"

"Really! It's official!"

"Oh my god, Danny! This is so exciting!"

They arrived at the restaurant. Zoe and Dorthy were a bit early and already had a table. When Danny and Jessica walked over to them they both stood up to greet them.

They all ordered their food and began catching up.

"So how have you two been?" Danny says happily

"Great. I've been keeping myself busy." Zoe says

"That's great Mom. I'm really happy for you." He says

"Oh! And Zoe and I joined this flower club! They do all kinds of fun things." Dorthy says

Jessica widens her eyes "A flower club? Huh. That's interesting!"

"Oh Jessica we will have to bring you to our club meeting next week. They are always so much fun." Zoe says

"Ann and Jane have come to a few. And so has Danny's sister." Dorthy adds

"Hmmm, Maybe!" Jessica giggles

"What about you two love birds?" Zoe asks

"Work work and work." Danny chuckles

"Yep, just work." Jessica says

"Oh, well you two are quite the workaholics. Your new job is going well Jessica?"

"It's going great. And my friend Sarah had her baby and she's just so adorable. Aww little Aspen. Danny and I love her!" Jessica exclaims

"Sounds exciting! Babies are the cutest." Zoe says

Dorthy nods

"So just work? Nothing else?" Dorthy says

Danny and Jessica look at each other then smile. They knew now was the perfect time to tell their mothers.

"Actually, something really big happened. Or is happening..." Danny says
