The Place To Be

October 3rd-

Work went well for Jessica. She was getting back into the swing of things. Everything was going back to normal. Jessica finsished the last of her book. All she had to do is meet with a publisher and get the book published. Jessica worked hours on end trying to organize everything for her publisher. Her book was finally ready and she couldn't wait to get it on shelfs.

During Jessica's lunch break she left to go meet with her publisher.

Jessica was put in a room, she patiently waited.

Jessica's phone started making noise and she smiled, it was Danny.

D- *Did you meet with him yet?*

J- *Not yet, I'm waiting now.*

D- *Good luck, I can't wait to see pictures! I miss you.*

J- *I'll be home for Thanksgiving. We can see each other then, right?*

D- *Yes! But what if I bought a ticket, flew to New York, got a hotel, and you gave me a tour around this big city you rave about.*

Jessica held her phone in her hand. She didn't know what to say. Danny wanted to come to New York? Jessica didn't know if she wanted him to come and visit her. She was scared it would confuse her feelings for him.

D- *Hello?*

"Jessica? Hi, sorry that you had to wait." A man walks in and Jessica quickly turns off her phone and stands up.

"Hi, I'm Jessica Lange."

"Yes! You're the lady I've been emailing back and fourth. Nice to have you back in the states!"

"It's nice to be back. I got done before the deadline. All of my pictures and descriptions are ready!" Jessica hands over a big file folder and hands it to the man.

"This is great, I'm excited to hand it over to my editor. We already discussed a format correct?"

"Yes! And I'm excited too. This is my first time ever doing something like this."

"It will be a great journey. I'm pretty sure we can have this on shelves before the holidays."

"So soon? Oh my gosh!"

He flips through the pages nodding his head. He looked very impressed and that made Jessica feel so confident.

"Who's this man?" He says pointing to a man on a beach.

"Oh! Thanks a man I met in Greece, his name is Frankie." Jessica smiles

"This is a great image. You really have a good eye, Jessica. Looking at these pictures makes me feel like I was there and it's all so real. I feel like readers will have this same feeling."

Jessica let out a dee breath and smiled. "You don't know how happy I am to hear that."

The next day-

Jessica was laying in bed eating chips and watching a movie after work. As she was waiting her movie her phone rang. She paused the movie and shut off her computer.

"Hey Jess!" Danny says happily

"Oh hey, I'm sorry I never texted back yesterday."

"It's fine... But I've been thinking a lot about taking a little vacation. I'd like to see New York."

Jessica closed her eyes and cleared her throat. "I mean yea, that would be cool."

"Do you have any good hotel recommendations?"

"I'd have to look. When would you come?"

" I was thinking maybe in the next week or so. Maybe we could get more into detail later! How did your meeting go?"

" it would be fun showing you around.

It was great, actually. He said it could be in stores before the holidays."

"Congrats! I'm so happy for you!"

"Thanks Danny. Just let me know about the trip."

"I will, I'll talk to you tomorrow!"

Ever since Jessica left Minnesota she stayed in touch with Danny. They talked and texted everyday. They built a really strong friendship. Jessica was happy with the way things were. She knew that Danny wanted to be with her, but Jessica was confused and didn't know if she wanted to be with him.

Jessica turned back on her computer and checked her emails.

As she deleted junk mail she saw an email address that was very familiar to her. She clicked on it and began to read.

Jessica Lange,

It's me, Franco. I know you love to call me Frankie, though. I miss you here in Greece. I'd love to visit you. My siblings and I are actually coming to the states and visiting. New York is the place I want to go because I know you are there. We are coming on the twentieth. Hopefully we can meet up. New York New York, the place to be!

A small smile appeared on Jessica's face. When Jessica was in Europe she met so many incredible people. She kept in touch with all of them. Frankie was one of them. She spent lots of time with him in Greece. She grew very close to him and his family. When she herd that he was coming she just had to see him. She responded back letting him know she couldn't wait to see him.

A week later-

Jessica was sitting in her office when she got a call from Danny.

"Hey Jess!"

"Hey!"

"I have great news!"

"Yea? What is it?" She giggles

"Well... drumroll please!

I'm coming to New York! My plane takes off on the twenty- third! I got a hotel room and everything."

"Oh Danny! That's great, I can't wait for you to come out!"

"Me too! I mean I know you have work, I can entertain myself, but I'd still love to see you."

"That's amazing! Yay!"

"So it's an okay time?"

"Of course! I have friends from Greece coming too, so we can all hang out."

"Oh- alright, nice."

"Is that okay?"

"Of course! I can't wait to come!"

"I better get back to work. I'll talk to you soon."

Danny was a little bit upset that he wouldn't be able to see Jessica, alone. But seeing her was all that mattered. He had so much to say.
