"Ahhh, home sweet home." Jessica carries her suitcase into her apartment and shuts the door behind her.

She scans the room and let's out a deep breath. She was finally home in New York. It felt weird not having little kids running around. It was chaos free and clean.

When Jessica got home she immediately unpacked and found the sudden urge to clean. The apartment was clean before she left, but she wanted to clean again. Having a clean home was always the best part.

After she was done cleaning she ordered some take-out and caught up with the tv shows while editing for her book.

It was a relaxing day, but she didn't like the quietness. It was usually something she craved for but that craving was gone.

As she went to check her phone she saw a text from Danny.

D- "Hey! Hope you had a nice flight and happy to be home in the city!"

A smile appeared on Jessica's face, she quickly responded.

J- "It's nice to be back, but I'm tired. It's getting late, you should sleep!"

....

D- "Yes ma'am. I'll talk to you tomorrow."

Jessica shut off her phone and closed her computer.

When she went to bed she just thought about what it would be like to have Danny's arms wrapped around her body. Her heart began to ache for Danny's company. It was like when she was younger after spending the day with Danny. When the night came to an end and she needed to be home she only wanted Danny with her when she went to sleep.

The feeling she had now wishing for Danny made her think that maybe a lot hadn't changed with her feelings towards Danny.

The next day//

Jessica's first day back and she of course had to go see Sarah, she missed her too much.

Jessica met her at a cafe as they caught up.

"I can't believe you and Danny started talking again! It just brings me back to memories of us and our boyfriends in high school."

"I was shocked that I grew the courage to. Something else is, I finally told my family and Danny everything. I had it bottled up for so long and I wasn't happy. It wasn't easy to tell them about the baby and Danny but I did."

"Really? I'm proud of you Jessica. Sometimes talking about it helps. You've overcome a lot in the last few years ever since you left. Coming to
terms with it with your family is good."

"Being home just brings out this side of me that I lost when I moved here. It's become easier for me to go home. My family and Danny were all so supportive."

"Good, I'm glad."

"How's Sam?"

"Sam, gosh he's doing okay I guess. He's been working a lot. We don't really see each other as often. Ever since your falling out things have changed. The past sucks sometimes. It changes so much. Does the word change ever scare you? I feel like I always say it!"

"I miss the three of us together. While I was gone my perspective on so much has changed. I've learned to stop holding grudges and move on and go forward. Most importantly I learned to not let the past hold you back but go let it push you forward."

"Words of wisdom from Jessica Lange. Though I'm glad you had fun, I'm happy you're home!"

"Hah, thanks. Frankie, he was a good preacher when it came to common sense."

October First-

Ever since Jessica got home she worked continuously on her book and planned to meet with her publisher October third and get her book published before Christmas. It was all coming together and Jessica was so happy. She kept in touch with Danny and talked to him everyday. They rebuilt a great friendship that Jessica loved so much.

October first was the day Jessica would go back to work. She woke up early, had her breakfast, and put on her pant suit.

It was all sinking in. Jessica was heading back to work. She was scared to. She hadn't been there in so long.

She walked the hallways of her office building. People waved hello and greeted her as she walked past the cubicles.

Before she did anything she had a meeting with Mark. She walked into his office with all the confidence in the world.

"There she is, Jessica fucking Lange. It's great to see you, darling. You look stunning as always." Mark stands up and greets Jessica with a hug and kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you for the warm welcome, Mark. I'm glad to be back."

"I hope your trip was amazing, your book is coming together, and your family is good."

"Everything's great. I'm ready to start writing."

"Great. I just want to catch up on a few things and your set!"

After the meeting Jessica went into her office. It was just the way it was before she left. Neatly organized with all of her decorations still in tack.

As Jessica sat down and got situated someone knocked on her door.

"Come in!" She says happily with a grin.

As the door opened that grin disappeared when she saw Sam.

He stood tall with a purple orchid In his hand.

"Do you mind if I come in?" He says softly.

Jessica got out of her daze and nodded.

"Come in."

"When you were gone I watered your plants, but some of them died. I thought since your coming back today I could get you a new orchid. Sorry about the other ones." Sam sets the orchid where Jessica usually had them, right on her windowsill.

She smiled and followed as he headed towards the door.

"Thank you, Sam. I appreciate it."

"No problem. I owe you, a lot."

"You don't owe me anything."

Sam sits across from Jessica. "I'm so sorry, for everything."

"It's the past, the past is over now it's only the future."

"I miss you as a friend. Having you gone for so long made me realize how lucky I was to have you as a friend. I hope in the future we can rekindle what we had. A strong friendship."

"Of course. I want us to be friends again."

Jessica and Sam caught up for a bit. It was nice to put the past behind them and move forward. Jessica told Sam about her trip, Minnesota, and Danny. Sam was always the guy that Jessica went to next to Sarah. It felt good to have him back.
