In this chapter I'm going to tell you how to keep your hair healthy with a few tips and tricks :)
Tip No.1 :
- Apply apple cider vinegar as a pre-shampoo treatment to help break up product residue and also as a post-shampoo rinse for added shine
Tip No.2 :
- Only apply shampoo from the roots to the mid-shafts of your hair as when you rinse it out it will cleanse the rest of you hair
Tip No.3 :
- Avoid silicones, sulphates and alcohols in your shampoos and conditioners. Sulfates strip your hair of natural oils, drying out your hair. Silicones coat your hair and weigh it down. Alcohols also weigh down your hair. Look for shampoos and conditioners that say 'sulfate- and silicone-free'
Tip No.4 :
- Do not try to brush your hair when wet. It's one of the biggest causes of hair breakage
Tip No.5 :
- Apply honey to your hair to brighten it up. Honey is great for hair, it moisturizes and has antibacterial properties that help with scalp conditions like dandruff. And it won't leave hair a sticky mess as it is very water soluble
Tip No.6 :
- Rinse and condition in cold water. Cold water helps seal in moisture and shine
Tip No.7 :
- Coconut oil helps to retain moisture. If your hair is extremely dry, try using coconut oil on the ends. It's a good daily moisturizer and if used sparingly, it's pretty much non-greasy
Tip No.8 :
- Sleep on a silk pillowcase. Silk pillowcases are softer on the hair when you're tossing and turning at night, so they prevent breakage and moisture loss. I advise you to Slip Silk Pillowcase. You can buy all different colours and sizes and they're so comfy
Tip No.9 :
- Don't overuse heating tools. Heat styling tools can dry out and fry your hair, which can lead to split ends, breakage, and overall damage. If you're going to style your hair with a hot tool, make sure you use a heat protectant spray first
Tip No.10 :
- Condition your hair before you swim. Avoid damage by wetting your hair and conditioning beforehand. Your hair will absorb the clean water and conditioner instead of the chlorine. I advise Lush Roots Hair Treatment
Tip No.11 :
- Olive oil, grape seed oil, and avocado makes a great hair mask. Hair masks are usually some combination of olive oil or grape seed oil, avocado, and one of a massive assortment of moisturizing conditioners.
Tip No.12 :
- Don't wash your hair every day. Washing everyday dries it out and strips it of it's natural oils. I wash my hair every other day or even every two days if it's not very greasy
Tip No.13 :
- Wrap your wet hair in a t-shirt instead of a towel. A T-shirt is lightweight enough to soak up some of the moisture and it won't lead to the frizz that a terrycloth towel can cause. You should also make sure to squeeze excess water out of your hair - not rub it dry - because that causes frizz and breakage. This tip kind of goes against everything I've been doing for my entire life so I definitely need to take this onboard
Tip No.14 :
- Eating lots of nutrients helps. Lots of leafy greens and healthy fats make for shiny, flowing locks. Combine eating healthily and washing less often and you'll have gorgeous hair in no timeI hope this helped. Remember to vote and comment if you have any questions or message me :)
