Char and I walked into the emergency room hand in hand. Everyone was here, looking terrified as hell. Jhona cried in Alisa's arms, Maria sat next to Ray, holding his hand tightly and Jacob sat there, shaking his leg. Char let go of my hand, rushing over to Jhona. She sat on the other side of her and rubbed her back for comfort.

"I'm sorry honey." She stated. I walked over to Jacob as he stood to his feet.

"How is he?" I asked him while giving him a handshake. He sighed, looking away.

"They said it's critical and he's paralyzed from the waist down." He told me. I sighed, shaking my head.

"Who the hell would do this man. Was it meant for him or what?" He asked. I but my lip, thinking back. The day we fought Maurice and his boys, Jacob was still in the hospital.

"It was Maurice." I began.

"Maurice? Maurice who?" He asked in confusion.

"Maybe you remember him or not, but him and Chres are at war basically." I began.

"He was the guy that tried to rob Johnny's Palace and Chres stopped him." I explained.

"Oh him." He stated.

"He needs to be put away man." He continued.

"Yeah. He does." I said.

Michael

I groaned, hearing a faint vibration ringing in my ear. I looked over, seeing my phone going off. I reached over, grabbing it and answered.

"Hello?" I asked quietly.

"What's up bro?" He greeted.

"It's after two in the morning. What the hell do you want now?" I asked him. He chuckled before answering.

"I just wanted to tell you that Chresanto, the super hero, is in the hospital." He began.

"What?" I questioned.

"I shot him and now he's fighting for his life." He laughed.

"You are cruel." I growled.

"I try my best." I could tell that he was smiling.

"I'm sick of you man. You're always out to ruin someone's life. One day someone is going to finish you off." I told him angrily.

"Whatever you say man. All I gotta say is watch your back...because you're next bro." He said before hanging up. I sighed, placing my phone aside.

"Everything okay?" Charlie asked in a sleepy tone.

"We have to get to the hospital." I told her while getting up. She watched me get dressed.

"What happened?" She asked me.

"Chresanto's been shot....by my brother." I answered, pulling my shirt over.

"Oh my god! Is he okay?" She asked in a worried tone.

"No." I simply stated. She got out of bed, rushing into the bathroom. I walked out, going into Madelyn's room. I picked her up from her crib, trying not to wake her.

"I'm ready." Charlie whispered while grabbing her baby bag. She gave me the keys to the car and we walked out. I gave Madelyn to Charlie then got into the car once she strapped her in.

Jacob

My leg shook uncontrollably, still waiting for more information about Chres. I looked upon everyone, seeing them sit there in agony, knowing that our friend was in pain. I stood to my feet, walking out of the waiting room. I made my way down the hall that lead to the restroom. I walked in, going towards the mirror. I splashed water on my face then dried it off. I felt nervous and terrified. This feeling in my stomach was killing me inside. I left the restroom, slowly walking down the hallway. I overheard two nurses talking....at first, I didn't care until one mentioned Chresanto. I stopped in my tracks, turning to them.
