Ring!

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing like crazy. Adam still had his arms wrapped around me. Ugh. Ignore that phone call. Adam's hug is too alluring.

Ring!

Adam woke up and groaned, stretching a bit.

"Oh, I think someone's calling you." Adam nudged me.

"Ugghhh...." I groaned. Dude, no way. This position is so comfortable. I wanna keep sleeping.

"Okay, okay." Adam chuckled and reached for my phone to check it.

I tried to sleep again, but I did want to know who was calling me. Probably Alice... Definitely not worth my waking up.

"Kent Bright?" he checked me to see if that person was important.

Kent Bright...

Oh dang! It,s my brother.

I quickly shoot up straight and grabbed my phone.

"I'm guessing he's important?" Adam widened his eyes in shock of my sudden, big movement.

"It's my brother." I grinned apologetically.

"Ohhh.... The one who's in France?" he asked. That's right... I told him about Kent when we had our first date. Or more like first long encounter. I'm still not sure if that was a date. I told him that Kent lived in France, and he even asked if I was French. And blah blah blah.

"Yep." I nodded my head before pressing the answer button.

"Kent?" I smiled in sympathy. Man, I might cry. I don't want Adam to see me cry again.

"Hey Mandy..." his voice was hoarse and tired.

Adam excused himself out quietly. Oh thank God. I definitely don't want him to see me cry. Guess he's read my mind.

"Are you okay? I'm so sorry if I couldn't answer your phone calls." I asked eagerly, like I wanted to hug him on the phone. If it was possible.

"What? Yeah, I'm fine. N-no, it's alright. I understand." he sounded so lost and mindless. Man, just hearing him like that made me want to cry.

He took a deep breath. "Can I see you later? I'm here for the weekend." he sighed but I could feel him give a little smile.

"Of course!" I exclaimed. "What time?"

He managed a little chuckle. "What about lunch? At that cafe you work at." he said.

"Yes. I'll be there." I gave a small smile.

"Great. See you." he said in a soft and sad voice. Then he hung up.
