Chapter 2: Driving

ECHO'S POV

*One Week Later*

"Echo!" My dad called.

"Yes?" I asked, coming down the stairs. He tossed something at me and I caught it to find out it was his car keys.

"Let's go, driving lesson." He siad.

"Oh my god, are you serious."

"Yeah, let's go." I raced down the stairs and hugged him tightly.

"Thank you thank you thank you." I said, kissing his cheek and running to the door.

"Oh hold on." He said and went into the living room. He grabbed something and then walked back to me. He put a bike helmet on and buckled it under his chin.

"Alright, I'm ready."

"Daad, I'm not a bad driver."

"Better safe than sorry."

"Andy, stop scaring your daughter." My mom said, taking his helmet off.

"Not my fault if I don't come back."

"Andrew! Stop, seriously." My mom snapped.

"Let's go." My dad said, pushing me out the door. We walked out to the car and I got in the driver's seat, my dad in the passenger's. I turned on the car and adjusted myseat, checking the mirrors. I know how to drive, I have my learners permit, now I just need my license.

I pulled out of the driveway and drove down the street. I'm an okay driver, I just need a little bit of practice. My dad is always terrified to drive with me so I don't know why he keeps volunteering to take me out driving.

"You're doing pretty good." My dad said.

"Told ya." I said, not taking my eyes off the road.

"Turn on your blinker!" He exclaimed.

"You didn't even give me a chance!" I exclaimed, turning it on. "Jesus, don't scare me like that." i said, turning.

"Sorry, I'm just a little high strung."

"No shit." I chuckled. "You know you have two other kids to teach how to drive."

"Yeah, don't remind me." He groaned.

"Your fault for having three kids."

"It wasn't my fault." He pouted.

"I do believe it takes two to tango." I smirked.

"Okay, it wasn't all my fault. Blame your mother. I wanted to stop at two." He ranted.

"As long as a fourth one doesn't come along, I'm fine."

"RED LIGHT!" He screamed.

"I see it dad, I'm not blind."

"I jut wanted to make sure you saw it."

"I suggest if you dont' want to get into a fucking crash, then you stop screaming at me." I said.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I reached for the radio but he slapped my hand away.

"No music, too distracting."

"Um, okay." I said.

"BIRD!" He screamed.

"DAD! THE BIRD IS FLYING MULTIPLE FEET IN THE AIR! NOW STOP FUCKING SCREAMING AT ME!"

"Sorry, I'll try." He said.

"Please."

"WATCH OUT FOR THE CAR." He screamed as I stopped behind a car at a stoplight.

"Fuck this." I said, turning around and going back to the house.

"What are you doing?"

"Driving us home. If you teaching me to drive involves you yelling at me, then I'll walk for the rest of my life. I obviously saw that fucking car because I was stopping." I said, pulling back into our neighborhood.

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine." I said, pulling into the driveway. I turned off the car and walked into the house.

"That was quick, how did driving go?"

"Fan fucking tastic." I said, slamming the keys down on the table and going up to my room. I don't think I'm ever going to learn how to drive.
