Chapter 33

NIKI'S POV

"Is this Niki Biersack?" The person on the phone asked.

"Yes, may I ask who's calling?"

"I'm from North Central Hospital and we have your daughter, Echo Biersack, in the ER and we need you to get here as soon as possible."

"Oh my god, what happened?"

"She was in a car accident."

"Okay, I'll be right there." I said, hanging up and standing up. "Boys! Get in the car!" I called, grabbing the keys.

"Why?" Davey asked, walking down the stairs, Nate behind him.

"Echo's in the hospital."

"What!" Nate exclaimed.

"She was in a car accident, let's go." I said and they nodded. I blinked back a few tears and walked out of the house, getting into the car and pulling out of the driveway. I picked up my phone and called Andy, hoping he would answer.

"Hey Niki, I'm just about to le-"

"Get to the hospital."

"Why? Is the baby okay?"

"Yes, we're fine. It's Echo." I said, wiping away a few tears.

"Oh my god, what happened?"

"I-I'll tell you later."

"Okay, I'm on my way right now."

"Okay, I love you."

"I love you too." He said and hung up. I pulled into the parking lot of the hospital and got out, the boys following me in.

"Just sit down." I said and they nodded, finding two seats. I walked up to the front desk and the nurse looked up at me.

"Can I help you?"

"Hi, I'm here for any information on Echo Biersack? I'm her mother, Niki Biersack."

"A doctor should be out to talk with you shortly."

"Thank you." I said, walking over to the boys. I sat down and tossed my head back, taking a few deep breaths.

"What'd they say?" Davey asked.

"A doctor should be out soon."

Five minutes later, there was still no doctor, but Andy rushed in. He hugged me tightly and kissed my lips.

"What happened?"

"All they have told me is she was in a car accident. Oh god, Andy, this is all my fault." I said, the tears falling.

"How is this your fault."

"I asked her to go get groceries."

"Well, I mean, a car crash can happen to anyone! I'm sure she'll be fine." He said, kissing my lips again before hugging the boys.

"Family of Echo Biersack?"

"You boys stay here." I said, getting up and following Andy to talk to the doctor.

"He wants to talk with us in his office." Andy said and I nodded as we followed the doctor down a few hallways until we reached a small room with a desk, one big chair and two smaller chairs in front of the desk. Degrees were framed and hung up behind the desk

Andy and I sat down in the two chairs in front of the desk while the doctor sat in the chair behind his desk.

"Do you want the information about your daughter first or the accident?" The doctor asked.

"Echo, please." I said, gripping Andy's hand.

"Well, it doesn't look too good. When her car was hit, it flipped and she was unconcious by the time the paramedics arrived. Once she was brought here, a few tests were done on her, and she's in a coma. She make wake up in a week, she may never wake up. But, the chances are high, that if she ever wakes up, she'll be brain dead."

"Oh my god." I cried.

"Do they know who hit her?"

"His name is Robert Jackson. He's being questioned at the moment. He wasn't injured too badly, but it was a direct hit. We did tests on him and there wasn't any alcohol in his system, so we'll have more information on that later."

"Who is able to go see her? Like is there an age limit, or is it only family?" I asked.

"There's no age limit, but the family thing is totally up to you guys. If you want us to only permit family back, then we'll do just that."

"No, it's fine. Thank you."

"Can we go see her?" Andy asked. The doctor nodded and gave us the room number. We thanked him and walked out of his office and went down a few more hallways before finding her room.

We walked in and I gasped, sitting down in the closest chair next to me to prevent myself from falling to my knees. Echo had a broke left leg and her head was wrapped up in gauze. She had a tube down her throat and was hooked up to many machines. She had brusies and scratches on her face and arms.

"Oh my god." Andy said, sitting down next to her bed and grabbing her hand. He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it.

"Echo." He cried out. I got up and walked over to him. He stood up and allowed me to sit down, standing next to me. I grabbed her hand and brought it close to my face, crying.

"Do you want me to get the boys?" Andy asked after we calmed down.

"Yeah." He kissed my cheek and left the room, returning a few minutes later with the boys.

"Oh my god." Nate said.

"I-Is she going to be okay?" Davey asked, looking at me.

"She's in a coma. There's a chance she could wake up, there's a chance she could never wake up, there's a chance she could wake up brain dead. It's really all up in the air right now and we just have to wait." I said.
