ECHO'S POV

"Did you have fun?" My mom asked.

"Yeah." I said, going up the stairs.

"What movie did you see?"

"I saw The Fault In Our Stars." I said.

"We saw Transformers and The X-Men." Nate smiled.

"Oh really, you saw two movies? I only gave you money for one." My dad said and I glared at my brother.

"Steven gave us money to go see The X-Men."

"Wait so, they saw two really long movies but you only saw one?" My dad asked.

"Yeah, The Fault In Our Stars is really long." I said.

"Echo." My dad said.

"Okay, Steven gacve them money and we just hung out."

"Hung out with or without clothes?" My dad asked.

"Dad!"

"Gross!" My brothers said, going into their rooms.

"With!" I said, turning to go up the stairs. 

"Come here."

"What?"

"Come here." My dad repeated. I sighed and walked over to him. "What?" My dad stood up and grabbed my head, turning it to the side.

"Oh my fucking god."

"What?"

"NIKI! ECHO HAS A HICKEY!" My dad yelled.

"NO I DON'T!" I screamed.

"Well, would you look at that." My mom said, peering over my dad's shoulder. I broke free from my dad's grip and ran to the mirror, running my fingers over the bruise on my neck.

"How did that-oh." I said, fixing my hair.

"How the hell did that get there?" My dad asked.

"Okay, we were kissing a little in the movie theater." I said and my dad glared at me. "And we may have gone out to the car whiel the boys were watching their movie."

"Echo." My dad sighed.

"I swear we didn't do anything!"

"Andy if she says she didn't do anything, then I think we should believe her. She's a good kid and you know it Andy." My mom said.

"Give me your phone, we'll talk it over." My dad said. I sighed and placed my phone in his hand, walking upstairs.

"Echo, are you awake?" My dad asked, coming into my room an hour later.

"Yeah." I said, staring at the ceiling. My dad flipped on the light and closed the door, sitting at the foot of my bed. "Are you coming up here to yell at me?"

"Echo, I'm sorry. I saw that and freaked out. It's just, you're my baby girl, my only girl, I don't want anything to happen to you."

"Dad, nothing is going to happen to me."

"Echo, hear me out. I've lived through a lot of shit, and shit does happen. Whether it's a stranger or a currrent girlfriend or boyfriend or even a ex."

"It won't happen to me though."

"I didn't think it would happen to me either. But before you knew it, two of my ex girlfriends and your mom's ex boyfriend kidnapped me and tried to kill your mom. Then they crashed our wedding and shot me in the arm." He said, showing me his scar.

"I always wondered what that was."

"Yeah. So, I'm just trying to protect you, so I get a little over protective sometimes."

"Well then, I guess, thank you."

"I'll try to control myself." He said, hugging me. "I love you Echo."

"I love you too dad."

"Here." He said, giving my phone back.

"Thanks." I said as he stood up.

"Goodnight."

"Night." I said as he walked away.
