Chapter 32

ECHO'S POV

"So, how do you really feel about getting a sister?" Haven asked as we layed on the hood of his car, looking up at the sky.

"Honeslty, I'm excited. I was worried I was going to have another brother to deal with, but at least I won't be the only girl in my house besides my mom."

"Sisters are a pain in the butt." Haven said, sticking his tongue out.

"You only say that because you're a guy." I laughed, playfully slapping his arms. "Brothers can be butts too. Besides, if I'm wrong, I have one more year to live in that house and then we're done with school."

"True. God, can you believe we're going to be seniors next month?" He asked, grabbing my hand.

"I know, it's insane."

"Oh, I got that job I applied for."

"Cool, now you don't have to keep borrowing money from your parents." I smirked.

"Yeah, they said that they're not paying for gas money anymore, that I have to pay for my own gas."

"I need to get a job too, so I'm not broke when we graduate."

"I can work for the both of us." He smiled.

"Haven, you can't support two people on a McDonalds salary."

"You just watch. Besides, you need to worry about getting a license before getting a job. You're almost eighteen Echo."

"I know, I'm taking my test next week, get off my back." I laughed. I turned onto my side and kissed his lips, Haven kissing back.

After a while, Haven and I got back in the car and he drove me home. I walked in and kicked off my shoes by the door.

"Hey Echo, how was it?" My mom asked.

"Fun." I said, walking up the stairs.

*One Month Later*

"Echo, can you go pick up some groceries?" My mom asked.

"Yeah!" I said, running down the stairs, grabbing the list from her and the keys and running out the door. When my mom first said she was pregnant, my dad told us to do anything she wanted without putting up a fight because of hormones and mood swings.

I walked around te store, finding the things we needed and putting them into the cart. My phone rang and I answered it, continuing to walk around.

"Hello?"

"Hey Echo, I was wondering if you wanted to come over? We can watch a movie." Haven asked.

"Maybe later, I'm doing some shopping for my mom right now."

"Haha, the curse of the license. Alright, just call me later then, okay?"

"Okay." I said and hung up.

"Excuse me, you look familliar." A woman who looked to be in her early forties tapped me on my shoulder. She had long blonde hair and brown eyes.

"Uh, my dad is Andy Biersa-"

"That's it! I'm an old friends of your dad, I'm sure he's talked about me, Juliet Simms?"

"Doesn't ring a bell." I said, shaking my head.

"Oh, well, can you tell him to call me?"

"Um sure." I said and walked away. I finished my shopping and checked out. I loaded all the bags into the car and got in, starting it up and driving out of the parking lot.

I stopped at a stoplight and waited until it turned green. Once it turned green, I looked to make sure it was clear and then started driving. I looked over just as another car rammed into mine, flipping my car and making me black out.
