Chapter 23

ECHO'S POV

*One Week Later*

Steven hasn't really messed with me this past week which is good. Haven has stayed by my side 24/7 at school and I'm grateful for that.

"Be safe." Haven said as he walked me up to my door.

"Thanks." I said, kissing his lips. I walked into the house and Davey went upstairs while I went to the living room to decide on dinner for the boys.

I was in the process of making spaghetti when I heard someone knocking. I walked to the door and looked through the peep hole to see Steven standing there. My breath caught in my throat and tears came to my eyes. He started banging on the door, making it shake.

"ECHO! LET ME IN! I KNOW YOU'RE FUCKING IN THERE!" I started to cry and the boys came downstairs. I put a finger to my lips and looked around. I pointed to the chest that was against the wall and the boys came down, pushing it in front of the door.

"I'M GOING TO BREAK THIS FUCKING DOOR DOWN!" I grabbed my phone and pushed the boys upstairs. I pushed them into the bathroom, closing and locking the door. We used the drawers in there to block the door while I called the police.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"M-My brothers and I are h-home alone and m-my ex boyfriend is try-trying to break in."

"Okay, what is your location?" I gave her my address and heard a loud bang from downstairs.

"ECHO! WHERE ARE YOU?"

"Oh my god, he just got in." I said, starting to sob.

"Okay, police are on there way. What is your name?"

"Echo Biersack."

"Okay, how old are you Echo?"

"S-Sixteen."

"Alright, where are you right now?"

"I'm in the upstairs bathroom."

"Are your brothers with you?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Okay, can you stay on the line with me until the cops arrive."

"I-I need to call my parents."

"Here, I have my phone." Davey said.

"Nevermind.Yes, I can stay on the line with you."

"Okay, tell me if anything happens." I put my phone on speakerphone and laid it on the counter, grabbing Davey's phone and calling my dad.

"Echo?"

"Dad, S-Steven broke into the house."

"WHAT! Are you okay? What about your brothers?"

"We're fine. We're locked in the boys' bathroom. I'm scared."

"Did you call the police?"

"Yeah, they're on their way."

"Okay, I want you to stay on the phone with me until all three of you are safe, got it?"

"Yes."

"Okay." All of a sudden, the door handle jiggled and my heart stopped. He started pounding on the door and I tried my best to stay silent.

"I KNOW SOMEONE'S IN HERE! OPEN UP!" He pounded on the door.

"Echo, stay silent." My dad said.

"Mhmm." I said as quietly as possible.

"You're under arrest!" I heard a cop say and heard Steven start to scream and fight. His screams got quieter and then there was a soft knock at the door.

"Is anyone in here?"

"Yeah." I said, hanging up with 911. I unblocked the door and opened it up to see a cop standing there.

"Mind if I ask you a few questions?"

"Oh, they won't know anything." I said, pointing to my brothers.

"Alright, then just you."

"Of course." I put the phone up to my ear as I followed the cop down the stairs. "Dad, the cops are here."

"Okay, don't hang up and put me on speakerphone, I want to hear. I had Ashley call your mother as well so she knows what's going on." We got to the bottom of the stairs and the cop turned to face me.

"Is it okay if my dad listens in? I have him on speakerphone."

"Of course, so can you explain to me what happened?"

"Echo! What in the world happened?" Kylie asked, walking into the house.

"Excuse me, who are you."

"I'm a family friend. I check up on her while her parents are gone."

"Where are your parents?"

"Um, they're in a band so they tour sometimes. But, they always call to check on us and she always comes over to check on us as well."

"Alright, how old are you again?"'

"Almost seventeen."

"Okay, can you explain to me what happened?"

"I was making dinner for my brothers and I when there was a knock at the door. I looked and saw my ex boyfriend, Steven Mathers. I have a restraining order on him and he's been in juvy for a while but I guess he's out now."

"Why do you have a restraining order on Mr. Mathers?"

"He tried to rpe me and tries to again every time he sees me."

"Do you happen to know where a copy of your restraining order is?"

"Um, dad, where's the restraining order?"

"In my room, third drawer on my side." I walked up the steps and went into his drawer, pulling it out and walking it back down, handing it to the cop. He looked it over and handed it back to me.

"Okay, thank you Miss Biersack. Can I have the contact information of your parents so I can let the know about this as it goes farther." I gave him their phone numbers and then said goodbye as the cops left.

"Dad, I don't want to be alone tonight."

"I can stay here if you want. I'm sure Ella is fine alone for a night."

"Thank you so much Kylie." My dad said.

"No problem Andy." I hung up with my dad and went into the kitchen to find the spaghetti all over the floor.

"I'll make dinner, you go rest." Kylie said.

"Thanks." I said and went up the stairs.
