4. he's getting married to someone that is not you

I got invited to Shawn and lauren's wedding and today is theg day he is getting married. Shawn is my best friend but when I read the invitation over and over again I can't help but feel sad. I know what you are thinking he is your best friend and to u should be happy for him but it is hard when you are head over heels in love with him and he loves someone else. Y/B/F/N ( your best friend name) said you didn't have to go but you thought if you went you could get closure.

An hour later.....

It's time for the wedding and you are wearing this.

You arrive and see a handsome Shawn in a suit.

The ceremony starts and the vicar says "anyone who wishes for these two people to get married, speak now or forever hold your peace."

You stand up and say "I object. I love you Shawn and seeing this isn't fun. I should be the one standing up there with you. That should be me and I understand you love her but honestly Shawn I can treat you so much better."
Shawn gives you a sorry look. That's when you realise he didn't love you back at all so you ran out of the church. He ran after you and you heard him you tried to run faster while tears were dripping down your face. Shawn caught up to you. He grabs you and pulls you in for a hug.
He pulls away and looks down at you and he starts to speak " Y/N it's been you, and it always has been. I love you not Lauren. The only reason why I went through with this is because I didn't think you liked me back so I went for Lauren which I realise now was a big mistake. Yeah I may have liked her maybe even loved but that couldn't compare to how I felt about you and when you stood up to object I was glad because you stopped me from making the biggest mistake of my life. When you stood up that made me realised you liked me too and I was so happy. Lauren understood why I left her at the alter to run after you. She knew somewhere deep down that I loved you and she was right. Y/N I ran after you because you are the one I want so what do you say, will you be mine?"
You didn't know what to say and zoned out for a few seconds processing what he had just said. You take a deep breath smile at him and say "Shawn that is all I have ever wanted to hear! I would love to be yours."
He leans down and kisses you gently.
You stop him and say "what about the wedding ceremony that was meant to happen?"
He says " I told everyone what I was doing and they said to go after you so I did. Even Lauren did she wanted me to be happy and the only way to be happy is with you."
You just smile and kiss him again. Little did you know that you and him would be the ones at the alter exchanging vows a year later in a happy and healthy relationship.
